Does anyone know if Asha Degree has been called in as a match? She appearently took her black shoes and her tweety bird overalls when she left home. This one is looking pretty good to me. If no one has previously called this one in, I'll do it first thing tomorrow.
Can't hurt to rule her out or find out if LE had ruled her out.

I believe if you check out the thread for Asha Degree, you will find she is NOT a match for this Jersey child.

possible matches:

http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/g/gilliam_quranah.html

not very likely, as she disappeared in January 2005..doubt the guesstimated date of death could be a year off - i doubt her remains would have been that decomposed. unless she disappeared prior to the date listed and it wasn't reported.
___________

http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/p/pastrana_isabella.html

again, highly unlikely, but who knows if the scenario police came up with is what really happened, or if there was foul play involved???

__________

http://charleyproject.org/cases/m/morales_tayna.html

listed as a family abduction...but Reading is only about an hour from Freehold. Maybe it wasn't a family abduction - NCMEC lists Tayna as "Endangerd"

___________

http://charleyproject.org/cases/b/bennett_kynande.html

again, extremely doubtful, but maybe mom and dad killed her while on vacation? or had someone dump the body?

___________

http://charleyproject.org/cases/j/juarez_sofia.html

again, another highly unlikely one..but still..perhaps her neighbor gave her to someone and they traveled cross country? or who ever kidnapped her wanted a companion?

___________

no highly likely matches...but i feel like there's not a lot of information out there on this case.

Children's sizes end at 5 1/2 or 6 for girls, after that you're in the womens. Both of my girls were wearing childrens sizes by the time they started school. I would think and 8 1/2 would be for a toddler.

My daughter is petite, 7 years old , weighs 38 pounds and wears a size 9 in kids. My 5 year old daughter is 36 pounds and wears a size 8 in child;s. So while both my girls are petite, the child could be age 5-8.

I really hate to bump cases just to be bumping them but I believe this could be solved with a couple more clues. This child is would not yet be an adult.
This child would be between 13 and 17 now.

I don't think the person who dumped the remains traveled all that far. while anything is possible, I don't think she lived any further than Philadelphia or NYC area, and I think she was in fact from NJ.

If you google map Clayton Park, Freehold, you see that it is not far from Route 195 which goes east west from Trenton, NJ to the shore area. Much of Trenton is a dump, although not as bad as Camden. Near the eastern terminus of Rte 195 is Asbury Park, a community that can politely be described as run down.

The fact there are no African American missing children from NY, NJ or PA that fit her parameters, leads me to believe she was never reported missing. That implies to me, she was killed by family.

I think the composite sketch really looks like amani holloway. Was she ruled out? I'm looking at a black and white pic of her on tax papers. Resemblance is very close. But idk what im doing.

I didn't see the NamUs page in this thread, so I thought I'd post it - if I just missed it I'm sorry about that!

The only rule out they have listed is Teekah Lewis

It worries me the Namus has not updated the rule outs.

This link has a article posted that tells where DNA was tested to Kynande Bennett. I have seen where she was rule out.

I would email whoever the manager is for that case on NAMUS and ask them if they can update with Kynande Bennett being ruled out. I love NAMUS because it is so user friendly for searching. It needs to stay current however, to have any value. I have caught a few things that were off, and I have emailed the case managers at least twice. Once was an UID that was listed as his race being "white", but he was clearly Hispanic or African American. They responded back and corrected it fairly quick. The other case I emailed, was for a Missing Person that I know was found as an UID close to where I live. He was still listed as missing in NAMUS, and there was no case for the UID. So.... I emailed the case manager to please update the Missing Person as "located". I never heard back from them. I will have to go look for that in a bit and see if it changed on the NAMUS page. We desperately need a coordinated database for UID and Missing Persons that is maintained and kept up to date!

I'm kind of new at this, but how come the NamUs page doesn't have a race listed, when they depicted on the bust that the child was african-american? I actually couldn't find this doe when I looked the first time, because I was too narrow in the race search.

clearly an omission by Namus. here is the link from the NJ State Police website where the child is clearly listed as black:

I love Namus. It worries me because If the rule outs are not updated I worry her case isnt being worked on by the investigators in charge of the caase.
