He may have thought he had already been spotted. From what I read the casino security guard was at the door pretty quickly then they had to clear the floor and bring in the SWAT team. So he most likely was silent waiting for them to breach the door.

Yes I think you are right ... it is such an aberrant thing to do ... to let go of your empathy *and* self preservation instincts so completely.

Anyone else getting a message that this video has been removed??

I was able to watch part of it, then ... poof.

It's gone from TMZ and pulled from youtube, and a CBS link for what looks like the same video goes to Page Not Found.

Per PC
2 cameras located in the hallway and one in the hotel room peephole.
Pictures leaked are legitimate.

Aww. Poor guy. He’s already said how shocked he is. Totally understandable from someone who has just found out his brother is a psychopath. IMO.
His brother is the reason all of them are living comfortably. Said he took care of his mother and made her life comfortable and he is the reason this brother was able to retire early etc

PC
Now showing some body cam footage of police officers responding.

I agree. He seems like he is trying to be honest and up front and give all the info he can, but he doesn't know any info that would help. And people are parked outside night and day, continually asking him over and over. And he lost his brother he admired, but is now supposed to hate him because he has done such horrific things. I hope he starts giving a standard response of that he tried to give all the info he can and now his family needs privacy to process and his thoughts are with the victims. Continuing to talk won't help him. It will just make the mobs worse.

Ah! Something I bet he didn’t consider! He didn’t anticipate the fire alarms sounding I bet!
Also, it’s a wonder how he didn’t fall out one of those windows!

In my opinion he was well prepared. I believe a narcissist wants full control of how they make a final exit. They want to call the shots-no pun intended. He took measures for not being ordered out alive by any authorities.

-The cameras and weaponry speak to what officials said Tuesday was a remarkable amount of planning and preparation by the shooter to increase the lethality of his attack. He may have used the cameras to ensure he was not captured alive, according to people familiar with the investigation.

-When a SWAT team burst into his room, they found him dead on the floor, apparently having shot himself in the mouth with a silver, black-handled revolver.

-The high number of firearms found at the hotel suggest a concern for overheating rifle barrels. The barrels can reach several hundred degrees, turning orange and even blue as rounds travel thousands of feet per second through them. In one crime-scene photo published by the Daily Mail, the gunman appears to be ***wearing a glove on his left hand, probably for holding a smoking-hot barrel***

-Those components used together in a weapon suggest a desire to quickly shoot a lot of automatic-like fire into masses of people without much concern for accuracy, as the recoil from simulated automatic fire would make it difficult to hit specific targets at long range. The concert stage was between 400 and 500 yards from the hotel.

-“He obviously tried this out before he was in the hotel room,” Wilson said. He added that his initial conclusion from audio of the gunfire pointed to a bump modification on at least one weapon. The fire rate was inconsistent with a weapon originally designed to fire automatically, Wilson said.

The video they are playing at the press conference is horrifying. I can feel my heart racing just watching.

Why do you think he stopped shooting? Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad he did, but seeing the guns and ammo in the hotel room, he could have fired for a lot longer. CNN said he fired for 9 minutes straight but we know the cops didn’t get there for over an hour. Why do you think he stopped?

It's possible that his firearm jammed, or got hot, he may have forgotten about certain gear like safety glasses, or gloves. Firing that long, with spent shell casings flying everywhere, and the heat off of the weapon, could have stopped him, not because of safety but because of pain. Or he may have laid low so they couldn't spot him and he could start again. Maybe he called his g/f? Any number of reasons. Using the bump stock could have become tiring too (he didn't look like he was in the best of shape). It requires using two hands.

There are some pieces I'm still confused about.

Paraphrasing here, need full transcript, but for now, the the female witness in the blue shirt celebrating her 21st birthday said via interview with a reporter that she and her companion(s) left and went back to their hotel about 10 or 15 minutes before the shooting because she felt uncomfortable about the woman saying they were all going to die. She said his woman was also harassing another woman in front of her with similar words. As I understand it she, the person being interviewed, notified security because it was making her and others uncomfortable and they escorted the female out. When asked, she gave a description that they were both hispanic, gave their approx heights and basically said they just looked like average people. She also said she wasn't sure if the female was saying this to warn them , or if she was saying it like she was part of it.

So, how did this woman know people were going to die?

Has security or the other woman commented on this, etc?

The quote I was replying to.

This was a viral hoax . There is a link outlining all of the misinformation , fake news, and viral hoaxes that have been rampant since yesterday. They are all right here along with the "You are all going to die/Brittany hoax that you mentioned:

It appears that the people spreading this rumor are connecting the dots between the existence of Danley and a viral story from an early media interview with a witness.

In that interview, a woman identified as Brianna described a strange moment minutes before the shooting, where a woman and her boyfriend were kicked out of the concert by security after the woman warned some audience members that they were “all going to die,” or something to that effect.

If the account of this interaction was accurate, it would certainly be eerie. But Buzzfeed talked to the firm in charge of security at Sunday night’s concert, who said that nothing of the sort happened.

That could be a possible reason he stopped shooting...the smoke alarm going off. I know when the smoke alarm goes off at my house, I stop what I'm doing and try to turn the dang thing off!

Las Vegas shooter installed cameras inside and outside hotel room

....

Paddock's motive is still undetermined.

"I can't get into the mind of a psychopath," Lombardo said Monday.

....

“This individual was premeditated… obviously premeditated,” Clark County Sheriff Joseph Lombardo said at a news conference early Tuesday evening.

“The fact that he had the type of weaponry and amount of weaponry in that room, it was preplanned extensively, and I’m pretty sure he evaluated everything that he did and his actions, which is troublesome," Lombardo said.

“I’m not aware of any transmission, but there were cameras,” Lombardo said. “There were cameras located inside of the room and outside of the room."

A U.S. government source told Fox News that an “immediate relative” of Danley called Paddock “unstable,” and made them feel “uncomfortable.”

“We anticipate some information from her shortly,” Lombardo said of Danley.

Per PC: He can not confirm SP sent $100k to the Philippines. They are getting financial subpoenas to find out.

Honestly it was a train wreck. I FFWD through a few min of it but the whole thing was him basically talking about how wealthy the killer was, how the wire to Philippines was prob because killer takes care of the people he loves so he was taking care of Marilou, that the killer must have had something terrible happen to him to spiral into hell, that the killer prob bought those bump things for the guns but they are prob still in the bag and he didn’t use them because of some weird reason I don’t remember, brother wants an autopsy done on killer bc it could have been a brain tumor, killers nephew (interviewees son) is upset and called him crying about all of this etc etc. major lack of empathy for the victims IMO. I understand that the family is probably really torn up and very emotional as well, but the brother should really stop talking to the press. I walked away from that video with a terrible taste in my mouth. It was essentially 30 min of talking about killers wealth and how the casinos praised him, and maybe 30 seconds of expressing empathy for the victims and their families.

JMO but it won't.

Yes I’m beginning to think you may be right. Sometimes it’s so hard to keep thinking positive. It keeps getting harder to keep believing there is more love than hate in this world.
