No updates on NAMUS. How long does it take to get test results back? It's been 8 months. No rule outs so far.

Opal Parsons is the only female over 70 on my list, who was missing from the Las Vegas area.

But there's no mention of whether or not the victim had teeth, or dentures.

I've had her as a possible Israel Keyes victim, as Keyes was in that general vicinity at the time that she went missing.

IdentifyUs now says "Height (inches) Cannot Estimate " so the 50 inches estimate was removed? Dental info for UID is now entered at IdentifyUs and so is Opal Parsons' at findthemissing so perhaps they're not a match based on that?

It still says hair brown for the UID and Opal Parsons' hair is described as "Gray (Dyed blonde, curly)."

DNA status for the UID says the dreaded "Sample available - Not yet submitted". Is this going to be in perpetual DNA limbo forever more?

The bit about the man using the ATM card at the casino is very interesting - I think Keyes was caught after he gave his location away by using the debit card of his last victim.

I figure that DNA analysis is prioritised in cases where a definite crime has been detected by LE, and no crime is obvious here in terms of violence against the deceased. I was just talking about another case where someone went missing over three years ago and no DNA has gone into Namus, Lauren Spierer. I often wonder whether her remains have been discovered and put into Namus but not into CODIS. I sent an email to the family about trying to get Namus to do the DNA analysis but now I realise that Namus must have a huge backlog of no-obvious-crime DNA to test. It might be years before these cases get tested. The DNA testing backlog is legendary of course:

I am wondering if the elderly lady found in the Clark County storage unit might be from a surrounding state such as AZ or UT, or back East. Las Vegas attracts lots of East Coast and Midwestern retirees.

For nearly 30 years, young college-aged women who are college students have been vanishing from college towns in the Midwest and South. LS is one of them and one of at least 3, if not more, just from the state of Indiana. There must be some way to rearrange procedures so DNA comparing isn't so backlogged.

She could also be from San Bernardino County, CA. In 2010, a shorter (58 to 59 inches tall) 60 year old lady, Wendie Press, went missing somewhere between Colton and Redlands. This case has still not been solved! I wonder if the tentative ID didn't pan out or if they still haven't done testing..

I have no idea what has changed, but it currently does not list a height or weight. Previous posts ITT indicate it once said the Jane Doe was 50 inches tall.
