Gatus addresses two threatening voicemails (callers do NOT appear to be Telles) found on German’s phone.

These could potentially be part of the defense to show other people were angry with German/RJ.

Hovanec showed an image from the extraction report that showed a shoe that was similar to those shown in surveillance video of German’s murder suspect 13 days before the reporter’s stabbing death.

Hovanec and the prosecution then reiterated that the information search into German’s vehicles occurred on Telles’ computer in his office and had taken place on Aug. 23, 2022, at 11:05:41 a.m. when converted from the Coordinated Universal Time listed in the document.

“So, at 11:05 on a Monday, someone went into Mr. Telles’ work computer and started looking up things like [German’s address.]” Hamner, the prosecutor, asked.

“Correct,” Hovanec replied.

1st witness for defense: Dr. Mark Chambers (clinical & forensic psychologist):Addressing suicide attempts when individuals are charged with a crime.

Chambers says it’s not common but it is more common than the general public.

Draskovich pointing out severity of murder charge.



Chambers says stress of being accused of a severe crime can cause people to attempt or die by suicide whether they are guilty or not.

Pointing out it doesn’t mean they have a guilty conscience.

Draskovich exploring topic bc of what unfolded when Telles refused to surrender.


Chambers says he talked with Telles about what unfolded.

Draskovich reiterating this doesn’t mean Telles had a guilty conscience.

Prosecutor Pam Weckerly: Asking when Chambers interviewed Telles.
He said he interviewed him twice, most recently last Saturday.
1st interview: 3 hours.
More recent interview: maybe an hour & a half.
Weckerly is asking if the interviews were recorded.
Chambers: no. Took notes.



Chambers says risk of suicide correlates with severity of the charge. Weckerly asks about the risk when someone w/ a prominent position has a fall from grace.
Weckerly asks about stressors & scrutiny similar to what Telles faced as a result of German’s stories.


Juror submits question: Has anyone in your experience ever attempted suicide in an attempt to gain sympathy from being accused?
Chambers says yes.
In many cases people do it to garner sympathy.
Draskovich asks if they’re talking about this case specifically.
Chambers says no.



Recess until 1:30pm.
Draskovich says we may hear from two more witnesses today.

2nd witness for defense: Tracy? (Apologies, I could not hear her full name.)
Says she saw video on TV released by police on 9/5/22 of suspect walking.
Defense attorney Draskovich plays video.
Says she called police bc she had seen the individual previously at Bruce Trent Park.


Witness is very soft spoken. Says person walked across children’s play area at park & entered men’s restroom.
Saw him on 8/28.
Called police on 9/7 after she saw the video.
Says police never interviewed her. Also noticed the man had a black duffle bag.



Weckerly cross examination: Witness says she left park with her granddaughter & saw him running toward another park.
Describes him as light-skinned, male bald.
8/28: she didn’t call police yet, says she was trying to process it because she was “creeped out by it.”


Says something just didn’t look right.
Witness had notes w/ her on the stand.
Weckerly asked to see them & is now holding them.
Witness says husband helped her w/ the notes.
Sees @LVMPD suspect surveillance video, calls police on 9/7/22.
Says man didn’t look like groundskeeper
