"She was going out to the Firefly restaurant go out with friends and celebrate New Year's and she was going to come back home." But Jarl Kongsrude says his niece, 20-year-old Mariela Morena, who has lived with him and his wife since she was 14, never came home.

Henderson Police say the last person to see Moreno was her boyfriend who dropped her off at her home near Eastern and Warm Springs in the early morning hours of New Year's Day. "He said that he dropped her off at the house around 4 am in the morning and she waved him off and that's the last time we've seen her," Kongsrude told News 3.

when you listen to the follow up video you find out a bit more information, that at the time Mariela went missing she had a outstanding domestic violence case against a ex-boyfriend.

Police Continue Search For Missing Henderson Woman

Two Nevada women are missing in two separate cases. In Reno, the FBI is involved in the search for 19-year-old Brianna Denison. She's been missing since Sunday night.

Down in Henderson, three weeks after she vanished, police still aren't calling the disappearance of Mariela Moreno anything more than a missing persons case.

The last time Mariela Moreno was seen in public was on New Year's Eve. She was celebrating with her friends at the Firefly restaurant.

She disappeared just four hours into the New Year. It's a baffling mystery with lots of questions and few answers.

Moreno, by all accounts, loves her family and has fun -- as you can see from recent home videos.

Family Desperate to Find Missing Henderson Woman

Mariela's boyfriend, Isidro Munoz, who goes by the first name Diego, was the last known person to see Mariela.

A Henderson woman, desperate to find her sister who has been missing since New Year's Day, is making an emotional plea tonight for help solving this mystery.

Henderson police are now saying for the first time on record that the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of 20-year-old Mariela Moreno are suspicious, and that foul play may be involved.

That's something her own family has suspected all along, but police say until more evidence surfaces, this mystery will remain a missing person's case and not a homicide investigation.

"We are worried because we know something happened to her," said Mariela's sister Monica Moreno.

It's been 37 days since 20-year-old Moreno just vanished without a trace. Mariela's boyfriend, Isidro Munoz, who goes by the first name Diego, was the last known person to see Mariela.

This is the first that I have heard of this case too. I wonder if someone was waiting for her when she was dropped off at her home that morning. I wonder who and where the ex-boyfriend was at the time.

I think the boyfriend is guilty and never even took her to her house. Her family said her dog would have barked upon her arrival and according to the boyfriend he didn't wait until she made it to the door. Canines are smart like that and mine always barks when i come home.

Sounds a bit suspicious. When I was younger, my friends and boyfriends would always wait for me to enter the house before leaving. I'd turn on a light and wave them off. Even if they knew my parents were in the house sleeping. Plus, Josie would bark at me if I came home at 4 a.m. She's asleep and has no idea who's entering the house.

I have been looking for another pic of "Diego" but can't find anything yet.
There is one other place to check, there is a spanish YouTube video campaign for Mariela, but I can't access youtube at work. Hopefully someone here speaks Spanish (I can speak, read and write only basic spanish) and would check that out for us.

On February 29, a body was found by Sunset Park in Las Vegas--one report said it is of a small person, possibly killed somewhere else and dumped there--has any one heard anymore about this? My niece Melanie Sutton went missing a year ago from Henderson, Nv--and we are on pins and needles--waiting to find out.
