Laytoniam,
Okay, let's say that he took a payday loan, and couldn't pay it back. And ...? What ? What do you think might have happened next ?

IF this is the situation, I'd say he had an immature fear of more debt being discovered, and thus seen (maybe) as even more of a failure. Those are pretty strong emotions, leading to depression.

okay i just read the timeline again.

im convinced that the deception or "switch" of identity happened after SK'S visit to the AN ranch.

SK met with his lookalike - they switched vehicles - SK went to Sacramento (freudian slip during his AN ranch visit) - his car driven by his lookalike goes the opposite way and intentionaly creates the paper trail which makes no sense because its not supposed to - makes appearances just enough so some people can "identify" him ( at night at his house and on a grainy video wearing a hoodie - really?) and the rest are all smoke and mirrors. but the question is - WHY? - what is the MOTIVE?

"DONT BELIEVE ANYTHING THEY TELL YOU AND ONLY HALF OF WHAT THEY WANT YOU TO SEE"

Who paid or supplied the other vehicle Steven escaped in?
Are you saying the imposter knew someone in the Anthem community or just a random pick up place for them?

What do you think the motive could have been? A significant other? A married woman? Just fed up with his life as is? Where does the money come in for this? Would someone pay him to disappear or want him to be successful? What would a person like that have to gain/lose?
Pretty elaborate "switch". The imposter would have to gain...money?

Oh, great. Now we have a missing look-a-like. ;)

i will play devil's advocate - make that angel's - good guy scenario first:

SK is witness to crime
he doesnt go to LE because its someone he knows
he goes to his inner circle
inner circle decides its safer to "hide" him first before bringing in LE
he has all the help he needs financially and physically from his inner circLE (family and church) its for a good cause

or he does go to LE and is placed into witness protection in which case he will never be found - the deception has to be elaborate enough to be believable.

i will now play devil's advocate:

he becomes unwiting participant in a crime
he tells his inner circle
they hide him
they set up elaborate smoke and mirrors - MEDIA, FB, WS to deceive.
with connections all over the world SK vanishes.

on my next post ill play an even worst advocate . . .stay tuned
Anyone who has to use public computers for job searches is a LOSER. Maybe the St. George library is where he was looking for dates provided the websites were not too racy.

I don't think LE would go after the hard drives on public libraries absent some compelling reason. Trying to track the history of a nobody like Steven is never going to happen.
I take issue with the statement that anyone who uses public computers for job searches is a loser. I am a public librarian here in Manhattan, and you'd be surprised at the variety of people who come in to use our computers for all kinds of things - research, job searches, just for fun, etc. People of all ages and socioeconomic levels. Not everyone is a pro at finding what they need on the internet, even if they have a computer at home, and if someone is newly unemployed and/or hasn't been unemployed for a long time, they often need our (the librarians') assistance on the best job search sites and how to go about matching up their skills with the appropriate employer. Sorry webrocket, I always look forward to reading your posts - just sticking up for public libraries, their computers, and the valuable services we offer to people from all backgrounds - not just "losers".

Maybe it's another scenario in the making for "Not Steven in the video?"

Well.....we still have the same problem, except we wonder where the look-alike went in that neighborhood, instead of Steven....and solve the entire thing.
It's nonproductive.

Oh, great. Now we have a missing look-a-like. ;)

LOL Ok, I'll start the thread on WS to get people to help with the missing look alike search. :P

I think that's entirely too elaborate for someone described as "younger than his years" to pull off.

He clarified his statement at a later point. (Sorry, I'm assuming WR is a he. I apologize if he's not.) He meant that a person with a laptop shouldn't have to resort to going to a library when they've done previous work online. Someone who works online should have the knowledge to get free wifi through their laptop.

That really does make you wonder why he'd use a public computer. You can get free wifi at many places (even on the front lawn at many places).

I am going to look into dumpster pick up schedules in Anthem ... the body double theory is a tad too exotic for me. I'm just a simple chick ya know ??? But, here's another saying : " Sitting and looking at the railroad tracks won't tell us what direction the train went."

...and why?
It's costly, risky, where does the lookalike go, what's the motive, why can't someone just disappear......and where does the lookalike go?

If we could find out where the lookalike went, we could solve this thing ;)

I keep wondering why people use terms like lookalike or "body" double in this case, because you really can't see what that walking figure looks like.

Lay, I think you need to go back and answer/post on the comment section of the Deseret News (link)......and add the time line. ???

now for the piece de resistance:

lets pretend SK did witness a crime - murder, extortion, rape, genocide . . .etc

he goes into hiding

everyone does what they can to help in the deception - GUY WITH VIDEO SURVEILLANCE was former LE - PARENTS - CHURCH FRIENDS - AND MEDIA are drawn in to help (knowingly and unknowingly) - AN RANCH - BODY DOUBLE WHO DRIVES HIS CAR FROM SK'S LAST SIGHTING (AN RANCH) TO SURVEILLANCE VIDEO

why? because the crime was by a real bad group of people

and these real BAD guys want to find him

and their checking on his FB and news clips and youtube and even here

who do you think these REAL BAD guys are going to go to for answers to SK'S whereabouts first? and they are such BAD GUYS that they dont believe in asking for anything nicely like "can you please tell us where he is - pretty please" - NO - highly unlikely, very doubtful, wont happen.

am i trying to stir up a hornets nest - YES - because nobody but us chickens seem to care about this poor guy SK and what happened to him.

so if these RALLY REALLY BAD GUYS would make a list of who they would "VISIT" first it would be

GW
PARENTS
AN RANCH
LANDLORD
EX ROOMATE
EX EMPLOYER(s)
VIDEO SURVEILLANCE GUY
IHOP PEOPLE
DESERET PEOPLE
AND ALL THE OTHERS MENTIONED IN HIS TIMELINE

is this HORNETS NEST big enough now
food for thought?
is it sending chills down someones spine yet?

Heh. You're a mind-reader. Let's see if that gets past their moderator(s). They may not like the timeline's attitude.

not if his family and others are helping him vanish for reasons that ive recently posted

im still taking the position that SK is not the victim - if anything we are for thinking that he was

ps my position also has a lot of hope because im assuming SK is still among the living

exactly! but especially if "the railroad tracks are no longer in use or lead to nowhere" ;-)

Well.....we still have the same problem, except we wonder where the look-alike went in that neighborhood, instead of Steven....and solve the entire thing.
It's nonproductive.

Then the other 5 scenarios for the "other person on video"
would be nonproductive. Right? And if there is another person pretending to be Steven, and he was not the perp, then we have just as many (probable) people involved in his disappearance as we would for a "favorable escape"---someone else's help assisting/planning---only known possible link in Vegas---GW or the distant cousin.

I agree the disappearance/switch of Steven after the AN visit is possible. But the motive for such an elaborate scheme is what boggles me.

I may be just tired and sleepy, but I think an Oops is needed here. Think about it ding.

Nite. See you guys tomorrow.

Good Luck! Market yourself well and WS!!!! We need the eyes and could always use more brains. LOL
