I was scanning through it and went to try to look up Timothy Sparrow's photo (which btw was about the least helpful one I've ever seen) - and reading his info at NaMus, realized that he was last seen in August 1992. So he's out (remains were found March 12, 1992).

If you find one, check it against wenwe4's latest alpha list to see if it's been posted yet (post 57 in this new thread, but she updates it continually). If not, post him in here so the detectives can give it consideration. *They appreciate if you can post links to where you got your info, plus any contact agency and case #s that might be available.

Here are a few characteristics to keep in mind:

• Caucasian male, with hair that has been described as somewhat thick with reddish tones (we're posting strawberry blonde, blonde, red, and brown if it's not dark)

• Estimated age at death = 35-50, so birth date should be roughly between 1942 and 1957.

• Remains found March 12, 1992 – so “last seen” in report should be prior to that.

• 6’ – 6’3” inches tall (give or take an inch or so), with a 32” waist - means the UID was probably less than 200 lbs (though yes, he could’ve lost weight while missing).

Just started in on California for the link above--pretty amazing site because you can enter in just description for the Missing Person search, and it shoots out the possibilities from that.

For the parameters, I entered 6'1" tall (3" +/- that) and current age 65 (highest it goes is +/- 5 years so I may leave that parameter out as our UID's current age would be about 58-73). I also entered hair color "red" but will try other colors as well.

Anyway, for the hair color red I did get a new 'hit' - though his hair may be a bit too curly:

That'd be fantastic, Dylgem! I've just today started and am searching CA but have noticed that some results are including people from other states (like the one I just posted). But that's ok...we can cover for each other occasionally. Go ahead and do Nevada and just keep me posted what states you're doing so I can pick a different one. I'm starting out west and working my way eastward.

Two things I've noticed, for what it's worth to you:

1) the search gives better results when I put in three parameters. So I'm putting in 6'1" (+/- 3") and MALE, and taking turns with 4 hair colors: blonde, brown, sandy, and red.

2) I'm leaving out the age completely as it's too narrow to have a +/- 5 year range--it's just as easy to scan through the results which all list birth dates (looking only at 1942-1957, roughly).

ETA: *Don't miss the "Next Page" links at the bottom of the results--I almost did (the link is small).

Blake was recently ruled out. Black still shows pending on my lists (but I have found 4 or 5 errors on rule outs today - so I could be wrong). I will triple check with LEO to make sure. Thanks for keeping up with me and double checking my work - it has proven very valuable! I do appreciate all the work everyone is putting in. I will keep updating the list and will try to repost it more frequently (every 50 posts or so).

Great. Thanks for letting me which you've done. I've done CA, and OR (which only had 1 person, who was all ready on the list). Utah had a "error page" and Idaho only had 3 people (with only one photo--I'll post them in the next post).

I'm wondering if I should start at "W" and work backwards through the states, and maybe let you start at "A" and work forwards...and then we can meet in the middle (or thereabouts)? Otherwise, we may get bogged down trying to figure out which of the states we still have left to do. Let me know what you think...

wenwe4 - on my post #74 with some new listings, there is listed an Alan Wayne Soper. The DOE Network has a much more extensive listing for him (missing from Tulsa, OK). A color photo is also there showing an auburn hair color, and the site mentions that DNA testing is available. (So if you can add that fact when doing the list, that'd be great.)
