The judge then said all parties must not speak publicly about any members of the court staff.

"Consider this statement an order forbidding all parties from posting emailing or speaking publicly about any members of my staff,” Engoron said. “Failure to abide by this .. will result in serious sanctions."

Do you think he is capable of controlling himself?

Fact check: Trump falsely claims it was agreed that Mar-a-Lago is worth more than what the state said
From CNN’s Daniel Dale

Before former President Donald Trump appeared in court Tuesday for the second day of his civil fraud trial in New York, he claimed on social media that it has now “been agreed in Court that Mar-a-Lago is WORTH 50 to 100 times the Value” New York Attorney General Letitia James had ascribed to it, $18 million.

Trump was claiming, therefore, that the court had agreed the Florida property is worth $900 million to $1.8 billion.

Facts First: Trump’s claim is false. There has been no such agreement in court. Judge Arthur Engoron and a lawyer for James’ office did not endorse a Trump lawyer’s Monday claim in court that Mar-a-Lago could be sold for more than $1 billion.

I had to laugh last night when Rachel Maddow was doing her usual chit-chat with Lawrence O’Donnell. She kept saying that Trump was concerned about how the size of his…long pause so we could fill in the blank with something naughty, and finally saying…wealth is viewed. :D
The thing is, most people don't give a rip how much he is worth. Extreme wealth really doesn't matter to most people! What does matter is integrity, dignity, kindness, etc. We all know business can be ruthless, but what impresses people is hard work, ingenuity, and honesty.

His values are so messed up. imo.

NEW: Judge issues "gag order" on Trump after for posting "disparaging, untrue" post about his clerk. "Consider this statement a gag order forbidding all parties from posting ... about any member of my staff. Failure to abide by this order will result in serious sanctions"
He's protecting his staff. Absolutely right thing to do. jmo

“This morning one of the defendants posted on (a) social media account a disparaging untrue and personally identifying post about a member of my staff. Although I have since ordered the post deleted and apparently it was, it was also emailed out to millions of other recipients,” the judge said in court.

“Personal attacks of any member of my court staff are unacceptable, inappropriate and I will not tolerate them,” the judge said.

Trump looked straight ahead at the judge as he issued the order.

The judge then said all parties must not speak publicly about any members of the court staff.

“Consider this statement an order forbidding all parties from posting, emailing or speaking publicly about any members of my staff,” Engoron said. “Failure to abide by this … will result in serious sanctions.”

Monday, Trump also went after the clerk in his comments outside the courtroom, though he didn’t mention her by name.

“And this rogue judge, a Trump hater. The only one that hates Trump more is his associate up there,” Trump said. “The person that works with him. She’s screaming into his ear almost every time we ask a question. A disgrace. It’s a disgrace.”

The post, which Trump included as an image in his own Truth Social post, did not allege that the clerk was Schumer’s girlfriend, merely that the two were “palling around.” Trump added the baseless “girlfriend” claim.

That post of the picture of DT with Jesus, geez. Yeah, I definitely think I remember that Bible story about Jesus screaming to the people about how Pontius Pilate is doing a witchhunt and how he was the GREATEST preacher in our UNIVERSE. MOO
I don't remember that one, lol, but maybe I get that story mixed up with the one about turning the other cheek. Or the one about the plank in your eye. Or the one about how your yes should mean yes and your no should mean no (and your financial statements should be true).

Donald Trump’s $250 million civil fraud trial in Manhattan is taking place without a jury.

The former president expressed his dissatisfaction with this arrangement, stating, “I think it’s very unfair,” during a makeshift press conference outside the courtroom.

The reason behind the absence of a jury, as explained by Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron, is that “nobody asked for” a jury trial.

Look for Trump to push for an appeal when the verdict is announced, one of the reasons being he wanted a jury trial and was manipulated out of it by the judge

During cross examination this afternoon, Trump lawyer Jesus Suarez tried to pin the blame for inflated financial statements on Trump's former accountant, Donald Bender.

Suarez noted in his questioning that Bender was the only CPA — certified public accountant — compiling the documents, and that others involved like former Trump Organization CFO Allen Weisselberg didn't have that level of expertise.

Bender, who said he made $1 million to $2 million a year, said in response to questioning that he was the one responsible for making sure everything was submitted correctly. But he countered that the company should have provided him with proper financial data, including appraisals.

The judge adjourned the trial for the day at 4:30 p.m., but he asked the lawyers and AG Letitia James to stay behind.

Trump was still in the courtroom as well, but reporters and spectators were cleared out. The judge did not give an explanation for the private discussions.

Look for Trump to push for an appeal because he wanted a jury trial when the verdict is announced.

It’s already been proven in summary judgment that he is guilty. Deciding now is how much he has to pay and if he loses his New York properties/businesses.

Correct me if I am wrong.

Last week, Engoron ruled that Trump and his co-defendants were liable for “persistent and repeated” fraud. Trump and his companies could be forced to pay hefty sums in damages for the profits they’ve allegedly garnered through their fraudulent business practices.

Trump fraud trial missing jury because his lawyers elected to

Trump's pretty lawyer forgot to request a jury. I wish reporters would push that info because it's Trump's team's fault he isn't getting a jury trial. If he wanted a jury trial, he could've had one.

FWIW, I don't think a jury would be any better for Trump. But, if he got a jury, then he would cry he can't get a fair jury in a Dem city like NYC (even though it's his hometown). Either way, he whines and shouts. imo

This doesn't reflect well on that fancy school DT Jr went to. Doesn't reflect well on his business acumen either.

Regarding GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Practices), Jr's deposition in this fraud case went like this:

"Q: How did you become familiar with that acronym?

A: Probably in Accounting 101 at Wharton.

Q: OK. What do they teach you about generally accepted accounting principles in Wharton?

A: Well, I’m not an accountant, but that they are generally accepted.

The questioner laughed.

The exchange continued:

Q: Anything else?

A: That’s pretty much what I remember from Accounting 101."
