''SOUTH OZONE PARK, Queens (PIX11) – A retired detective haunted by the brutal murder of a young woman in 2013 thinks the unsolved case in South Queens deserves another look for potential links to the Gilgo Beach murders suspect.

“She was dumped on the parkway,” the investigator, who didn’t want to be identified, told PIX11 News at the site on South Conduit Avenue near the woods. “The South Conduit leads to Long Island, into Nassau County, so—you know—it’s conceivable she could be a victim also.”

Alicia Adams, a 22-year-old sex worker, was found naked and mummified in the brush about two months after she was last seen in April 2013 near the Imperial Hotel in East New York, Brooklyn. Sex workers are known to operate in this area. Adams was the mother of two little girls.

The retired cop has wondered if South Conduit turned into a dumping ground after the 2010 discovery of four women’s bodies in the brush off Ocean Parkway in Gilgo Beach.

Architect Rex Heuermann, who has an office in Manhattan, has pleaded not guilty in three of the murders he was charged with.

The investigator remembered two cadaver dogs separately hitting another spot in the woods on South Conduit Avenue.

“I think this area could have been looked at with cadaver dogs further,” the retired detective said. “I think that there’s a strong possibility there could be more victims here.”

The retired cop pointed out that Adams was missing the hyoid bone in her neck and 13 teeth.''

Just curious... how can a body be mummified only two months after she was last seen?

Seems like it would take a strong killer to inflict so much damage to a victim, including throwing them from the roadside into the woods. It's scary to think he continued killing women after his victims were found at Gilgo Beach. He just moved his dumping ground further to the west of LI.

The missing hyoid bone is very interesting, same as the damaged hyoid bone for the other victim Carmen Vargas. .

There were a few articles about her being found, but none about her identification, up until last year

The partially decomposed body was found at the Van Wyck Expressway and South Conduit Avenue – alongside the Belt Parkway – around 9:25 p.m. Friday.

Makes me wonder how many other cases like this gained little to no news coverage

The woman has a green dragon or lizard tattoo on her upper chest area, and the words "Daddy Rock" tattooed on her right thigh.

Rbsbm.
The hyoid bone is very interesting, it was a subject of great interest and research on the Sherman murder thread, so it now always catches my eye and imagination, so...
Would a killer who likes to mix things up switch the hyoid bones of his victim's remains, would it be obvious to a coroner that a body part was foreign to the victim? speculation, imo.
