Prince Andrew handed over to US

Prince Andrew handed over to US

The United States has reportedly demanded Prince Andrew be handed over for questioning over his alleged ties with convicted sex offender, Jeffrey Epstein.

In an explosive new report from The Sun, the British Prince faces a court quiz in a move that has bypassed the Palace, as the case against Epstein becomes more
urgent.

It is alleged that Andrew was friendly with Epstein and may also have been involved in his sex trafficking circle.

One key witness, Virginia Roberts Giuffre, claims she had sexual relations with Andrew between 2001 and 2002, when she was underage.
According to the report from The Sun, the US Department of Justice has by-passed Buckingham Palace and instead filed a "mutual legal assistance" request to the Home Office.

Ultimately, this means the Prince could be forced to appear in court as a witness within a matter of months.

Earlier this year, it was revealed the Prince had provided "zero cooperation" in the case against Epstein, with US lawyer Geoffrey Berman confirming his actions to the New York Times.

Prosecutors formally request to talk with Prince Andrew in Epstein investigation

The rare action is focused on making sure the inquiry is as thorough as possible, officials said.

Federal prosecutors in New York have formally requested through the British government to speak with Prince Andrew as part of their criminal investigation into Jeffrey Epstein's history of sexual abuse, according to a person familiar with the matter.

The request, made under a Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty, or MLAT, is similar to a subpoena in this case for Prince Andrew's testimony.

It's a rare move to seek an interview like this through MLAT, officials say, and it's focused on making sure the investigation is as thorough as possible...

Those behind the move say the decision to use the treaty - which is rarely deployed - is designed to ensure the investigation into the disgraced billionaire's history of sexual abuse is as thorough as possible.
But a statement issued by Prince Andrew's legal team called the development "disappointing" and claimed he had previously offered his assistance to the US Department of Justice (DOJ) on three occasions.

"Unfortunately, the DOJ has reacted to the first two offers by breaching their own confidentiality rules and claiming that the Duke has offered zero cooperation.

"In doing so, they are perhaps seeking publicity rather than accepting the assistance.

"We were given an unequivocal assurance that our discussions and the interview process would remain confidential."

It comes after US Attorney Geoffrey Berman said in March that he would consider legal action because, he claimed, Prince Andrew's representatives had ruled out an interview.

@KlasfeldReports
Prosecutors now have openly called out the prince, twice, for falsely claiming being cooperative. The first time was in March.
For a second time, @SDNYnews contradicts Prince Andrew's claims he cooperated with the Jeffrey Epstein probe.
"If Prince Andrew is, in fact, serious about cooperating with the ongoing federal investigation, our doors remain open."
Remarkable, rare rebuke.
how rare is this statement? The SDNY U.S. Attorney's office typically redacts the names of uncharged public figures from complaints and indictments. Prosecutors now have openly called out the prince, twice, for falsely claiming being cooperative. The first time was in March.

Virginia Roberts Giuffre described Prince Andrew's odd shaped penis: in previous records.
Perhaps LE need to check this out (before he may intend to have surgery).
MOO.

Could it be that Epstein was circumcised but Andrew was not? If Epstein was the only man she had ever seen then Andrew would look odd to her.

US prosecutor Geoffrey Berman said the duke had 'repeatedly declined' a request to be interviewed and had 'unequivocally' stated he would not come in for one. But Andrew's London lawyers say he offered to provide a witness statement.

It suggests the prince is at loggerheads with the Americans because they want a face-to-face interview, whereas he wants to provide evidence in writing.

Last night a friend of the duke described the deadlock as a 'Mexican standoff' and said US prosecutors had made it all but impossible for him to cooperate.

But victims of Epstein called on Andrew to 'take the oath and just tell the truth'.

US lawyer Gloria Allred, who represents some of Epstein's victims, told BBC Breakfast: 'I think Prince Andrew, at this point, has very little credibility.

And I have a lot of suspicion about what he is saying, through his representatives.'

I don't think that offering a witness staement is good enough.

There is white privilege and then there is Royal Privilege. It doesn't translate too well across the pond.

I don't think it looks too good on this side of the pond either.

No. It's far to say that Randy Andy (and Fergie) have long been thought of by many if not most over here as vulgar chancers, and a drain on the public purse, despite their royal claims. They've spent most of their public lives living beyond their means and all but jumping at the chance to live a little larger -- though Andrew was often thought of as a "playboy" rather than an abuser/underage or child abuser for most of that time, at least publicly, so far as I can remember. Dim, craven and boorish and money grubbing for sure, and not adding much in the way of lustre to the House of Windsor.

But then we're Scottish and Welsh, and lean republican anyway, so maybe I've missed all that good stuff he's done in his princely wanderings.

Virginia Roberts has branded Prince Andrew a 'toad' after the disgraced royal finally admitted that his failure to express sympathy on his car crash Newsnight interview was a 'source of regret'.
Venting her frustration, the victim of paedophile Jeffrey Epstein said: 'Oh the gull of this toad - he regrets the BBC interview but not his "friendship" with Epstein because it gave him "great contacts" and much more.

'Look into the house he sold to a wealthy arms dealer, not at the asking price but added on a few extra 100's of 1000's.
'Seems his fat-fingers were in a lot of pies. This man is not a prince but a facet of insidiousness who has proven to get away with it all.'

In the devastating interview aired in November last year the Queen's favourite son failed to express any sympathy for Epstein's victims, who were trafficked from as young as 14 years old.

He also demanded an 'olive branch' from US authorities this week before he assists them with the investigation, in a move that is likely to draw further anger.

Wait - Andrew, Epstein and Harvey Weinstein all have weird penises? Weinstein's victims said his looked like a potato, Epstein's looked like an egg, and good lawd I can only imagine Andrew's floppy fat fish. These men must have really abused their genitals to all have deformed ones.
