A woman's badly decomposed body was discovered near the banks of the Gowanus Canal in Brooklyn Saturday, police said.
Cops found the unidentified woman lying on the rocky shoreline behind the Hamilton Ave. Home Depot near 19th St. in Sunset Park around 2 p.m., according to authorities.
She was fully clothed but was not carrying any ID, cops said.

It was not immediately clear how long she’d been in the water.
An autopsy has been scheduled to determine how the woman died, officials said.

GOWANUS, NY — An unidentified woman was found dead on the shoreline of the Gowanus Canal on Saturday afternoon, police said.
Officials found the fully-clothed woman on a rocky area of the shoreline near 550 Hamilton Ave. at about 2 p.m. after receiving a 911 call about the body, authorities said. EMS responded to the scene and pronounced the woman dead.
The body was badly decomposed and officials have yet to determine her identification or age, a spokesman for the NYPD said.
The medical examiner will determine the cause of death, police said.

LOWER TOWNSHIP — Police are searching for a missing Newark woman who frequently visits Cape May County.
Tiffany M. Brewster, 32, was reported missing by her family Nov. 18, Lower Township police said Tuesday morning.

Brewster was last seen Nov. 30 in Lincoln Park in Newark, police said. She is described as 5 feet, 2 inches tall, weighing about 117 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.
She has been known to be with her boyfriend, Lavonte Williams, police said in a statement. She frequently visits Middle and Lower townships.

I know I find it so weird people found in the river unidentified are not reported on a bigger scale with at least the local news?! And then it just goes away. You never know if they are identified or not.
 
I have not heard any updates on this Jane doe
 
Has there ever been any update or does anyone know if this woman was ever identified?
