Does this ring a bell with anyone, in the description of someone missing? A body was found locally(Western NY state), female 25-45 years old, 5'1"-5'8", 105#-125#, dead 1-5 years. She was wearing a size 6 tan boot with red flowers embroidered on them.
That's a pretty unique boot. I hope this will job someone's memory.

TAN boots not ran, sorry

Go easy on me....this is my first time starting a thread.
An unidentified female's remains have been found in Western NY State. So far, investigators believe the female to have been between 25-45 years old, 5'1"-5'8" tall, 105-120#. She was wearing some very unique tan suede boots with flowers appliqued on them. She is believed to have died 1-5 years ago.
Corrie Anderson and Lori Ceci-Bova from Jamestown have been ruled out.

I did a search through NCMA and didn't find any. You may want to also post this in the unidentified forum so more people will see it.

How incredibly heart breaking. In the water for 1 to 5 years. Senseless

The weight seems a little off but the age and height are possible. I wonder what she was last known to be wearing or if she owned a pair of shoes like that.

I noticed the weight discrepancy, but the missing persons report emphasized "thin build" and I'm not sure how accurate a weight estimate is from a skeleton.

Remains were found in the Allegheny Reservoir in Cattaraugus County, NY on Saturday September 26th. As of today (10/21/09) they have yet to be identified. Here is what is known so far. The remains are that of a female, between the ages of 25 - 45, height between 5'1" - 5'8", the remains are to believed to have been in the water for 1-5 years. Corrie Anderson and Lori Ceci Bova have been rule out by dental records.

I definitely think it's worth it to email them. Better to be safe than sorry.

That reservoir extends into PA.

Michelle Benjamin has been missing from that general area for a few years.

http://www.nampn.org/cases/benjamin_michelle.html

A friend and I were discussing this being a "drive by dumping" of a body, this morning. I don't think so. I'm pretty familiar with the area, but couldn't get to where this woman was found without good directions.

Michelle was supposedly "travelling" from St. Mary's to Buffalo. I believe they'd get off 86 at 219, far East of the reservoir, if that was the case.

The time line and body type fit what we have been told.

I definitely agree. I have NO faith in those working the case (or Corrie's, or Lori's, or any of the other women missing from this area)!

I emailed the chief of Police for St. Marys, with a link. I'll let you know if he responds.

I left a message and link to the news articles and pics of the boots, on KellySue's site.

Also left a message on Bethany Dougherty's site. I tried to email the lead investigator in her case but the email was returned.

I think she is a viable option. I hope they are better able to narrow down something on that description. I realize they don't want to exclude any possible matches at this point, but geez, could they at least describe the boot a little? Does it have a heel? and if it does how high is it? Was it an ankle boot? Was it leather? Was it suede? Was it pleather? Was it a winter type boot? Lined with fleece? Was it a narrow heel or a square heel? Pointy toe or square?
She must be skeletal, but how much of the skeleton was recovered? Hopefully, they will release a little more info in the near future.
