An update on the search for Colin Marma -- friends of the family gathered in Grand Central Station on Sunday and put up posters, talk to people and search the area where he was last seen, talked to people and went to as many hospitals as they could. Sadly, no new information but it is very heartening when friends and neighbors get active and involved and try to help find a missing person. My hope is that he has been taken in by a friend, or that he may purposely be disassociating himself due to personal problems and wants to stay hidden. We can only hope that one of these is true, but won't stop looking.

Thanks for the update. Encouraging to hear that people are helping. I've been sharing his photo and info on Twitter, tagging local accounts. The more awareness, the better.

Marma – who suffers from bipolar disorder – was working for a small cabinet shop linked to his stepdad’s construction company in Cold Spring – an opportunity that he was “quite excited about,” Heitmann said.

Colin Marma, 26, who lives in Garrison, N.Y., told his coworkers Feb. 2 that he was stepping out for a coffee run – but never returned.

“He left here and he drove to work, and he pulled into work and he pulled out of work,” Fleming told The Post in a phone interview. “Then he went back to work. He went inside the woodshop, he started to do a few things and then he ended up leaving, and the guys he worked with thought he went to get coffee, and he never came back.”

The anxiety-stricken family filed a police report the next day – but sat on pins and needles for about four more days before cops notified them that their son’s car was found abandoned at 143rd Street and Broadway in Hamilton Heights

So far, a group of volunteers have canvassed local hospitals, food pantries, shelters and police precincts.

They're handing out flyers with Marma's information on and pleading with everyone they meet to keep an eye out for him.

Marma's stepdad, Roland Heitmann, told News 12, about their search plan.

"Because of the beautiful weather, we know that he likes walking around outside, so we're gonna canvas the parks today and were also gonna try to hit as many subway stations cause we think that's a likely spot for him," Heitmann said.
