NYPD Searching For Missing Brooklyn Woman Czesiawa Konefal


The NYPD says 76-year-old Czesiawa Konefal, of Brooklyn, was last seen at St. Stanislau Church on Humboldt Street around 10:15 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 9.

Her family says she doesn’t speak English and suffers from dementia.

Brooklyn Family Desperate To Find Missing Mother Czesiawa Konefal Who Has Dementia: 'I Want Her Safe And I Want Her Home'

Konefal, who suffers from dementia and high blood pressure, has been without her medication since Saturday, adding an extra sense of urgency in the search.

“She’s obviously not at any hospitals, and she’s not in the morgue. She’s definitely safe, she’s wandering, finding her way home, and we need to lead her that way,” Bogunia said.

I’m not sure if the aide was supposed to stay with her the entire time or not by reading this.
When Konefal attended mass there on Feb. 9, she was accompanied by a health aide, son-in-law Charles Michael Skidmore told The News.

The aide did not remain at church with her mentally frail charge for long, though, the family said.
According to Skidmore, the aide left Konefal alone at church with the intention of returning once mass was over. But when she did return, Konefal was gone.

A woman answering the phone at Community Home Care told a News reporter she couldn’t give "information in regards to any situation” before hanging up Friday. Community Home Care didn’t return an email seeking comment.
