GUILTY NY - Driver pulled from SUV, viciously beaten by bikers, Manhattan, 29 Sept 2013

It's worth mentioning that the rider who got into the little bump-up with the SUV wasn't the one who got so badly hurt! That first guy, Christopher Cruz, is totally fine. Whoever caused that little bump-up is a bit irrelevant to me.

What happened after, when the SUV driver did stop and didn't pull away was where the situation got way out of hand, imho. Dude stops, a ton of guys attack his car. You can't do that! There were just too many of them, and they were clearly angry as a swarm of yellowjackets.

When they did finally pull him out they did beat him up and slash his face with a knife in full view of tons of witnesses. The SUV driver was right to be terrified of what would happen when they could pull the family out of the car, because it still ended up happening.

If y'all watch the real-time video again, notice how long the SUV driver doesn't drive off. The riders have time to get off their bikes, walk in the middle of the highway, etc. If he was just doing a hit and run, why the long pause?

:tantrum:
moronic idiots with a death wish. I can't believe this crap. Riding on sidewalks, going in and out of cars like that? Makes me sick! :puke: It will be too late when they hit some pedestrian, or they get hit!

I can see why police can't catch a lot of these morons. I don't see license plates on these bikes. :waitasec: I maybe saw 2. What's up with that? They should be pulled over for that alone! :gavel:

Yeah, I noticed the no license plate thing too. I did read several articles that said the police were told not to chase after large groups of the riders. And the one that was run over had 16 citations for driving without a license! I'm taking the leap and assuming he had no insurance either.

I wish I believed that the Hollywood Stuntz riders will learn from what happened Sunday and change their behavior, but who else doesn't think it will? I'm raising my hand.

:floorlaugh: Taunted police from his mom's house! I'm sorry but that cracked me up. I especially love this quote from the article “It’s not his fault,” Lao’s dad, Juan, said of Sunday’s violence, defending his son, who scampered through a back entrance of the home Thursday and hid in the house to avoid a reporter.

Big tough guy, huh?

I'm rolling!

I wonder if his room is in the basement?

I can't recall reading any comments along this line so I apologize if this has been addressed already. I just watched this video numerous times and the whole slow-down thing in the beginning seems so planned out. All the bikers are moving along at a good clip right until the one moves in front of the SUV and slows down, causing the collision. Immediately the rest of the pack stops in unison. It sure seems to me that this SUV was targeted for some reason.

I totally agree, and here's more:

“It’s been a nightmare. My mom is handicapped and my dad has a heart condition,” she said. “They [bikers] will go up to her and like play chicken, trying to scare her.”

BUT

Big man, hiding out at daddy’s, scampering out the door, terrorizing handicapped women, and families. BIG F’N MAN. The bigger they are, the quicker they scamper – out of their daddy’s house, just like a rat.

Maybe one stunt too many, Lao? Is there a law against inciting or organizing things against the law? Do we have a lawyer here?

What a JOKE these thugs are.

BTW, law enforcement, if you want a few pointers on how to stop them, contact me. I could put up a much better road block than I saw on some videos – which gave enough room for the whole pack to ride through. Next time, block the whole road, two and three deep, that might work. I hope to God you guys, who live off our tax dollars, aren’t afraid of these daddy’s, innocent little boys.

I think it might be, LOL, but I also wonder if he has any children our tax dollars may be supporting. I hope not - 'course I also wonder that about the rest of the thugs on that ride. I would hate to know my tax dollars were being wasted or used against us.

The more I read and watch about this the more infuriated I get. I cannot believe there are people who defend these scum. :banghead:

Guess you're in good company, LOL, even the "Angels" don't agree, but of course they have an agenda also - keeping their butts from getting splattered all over the highway.

This was a bad happening, a terrible thing, that people had to be intimidated, and injured, maybe permanently. But, on the other hand, it think it has awakened a lot of us to what SOME bikers are really all about, and I believe they ain't gonna be quite as blasé or intimidating 'cause I know I will fight back. 'Course I always knew that, but their actions gave me good cause to fear.

On the other hand, the "Angels", which ain't no angels, do seem to ride responsibly, oddly enough. What they do on their time off the road is of little interest to me.

I am angry about this, that a young family was harassed and injured in many ways by this gang of petty thugs, who scramble and scurry out daddy or mommy's door when trouble comes knocking. I lost respect/fear of this type, and gained a sense of my own power, and that of my auto, if push comes to shove - I hope it never does.

My opinion only

Well look at the bikes, that gives you a big hint (for those of us that believe in stereotyping and profiling). The "Harley" type bikers are often a completely different breed and many driven by older bikers including these days many yuppie older professionals that enjoy feeling like a "rebel" when their wives let them go out on weekends. The crotch rocket set are often young guys and it is becoming more popular with some urban youth.

I do not recall ever seeing Harley riders drive like idiots. Not saying it as never happened in the history of motorcycles but they are generally conservative and safety oriented while riding, they typically drive in two or more and behave like automobiles as they claim their share of the road. Now if you hit one they may attack your vehicle BUT they are generally safe drivers on the road. They move predictably and maintain safe distances around other vehicles.

Crotch rockets (the smaller sport bikes) are different type of bike and a different type of rider, those are the guys that start going 110 miles an hour on the highway (which can freak out other drivers when you hear the noise suddenly on top of you). They often get off on racing, weaving, outspeeding the police in some cases etc... Not saying they are all bad BUT they attract a different type of person than the big Harleys.

I do believe this post bears repeating.

These people need to be arrested, look at a video of these Bikers that morning and see what danger they put the public in.

This is why the police were getting flooded with 911 calls that day.

Yeah, "flooded with 911 call that day", and what did the BOYS IN BLUE do about it? WHERE were they? Isn't that what they get PAID for?

This is just stupid. It's all on video they should all be losing their license at least.

Lots of motorcycle groups in my area. If I'm on the road and see a pack of them coming up behind me, I automatically go into super-defensive driving mode. I move over to the slow lane and reduce my speed and 100% of the time, the group ends up passing me. Only when they are in the distance, do I go back to my full speed and lane.

I'm mostly afraid one of them will cut me off and I will hit him or her.

This group surrounded the vehicle for some reason and caused him to bump one vehicle. When his was attacked, he got out of there, good for him. It's probably what would happen if any of the groups I routinely encounter were to surround and harass me.

We have groups that ride their Harleys and such around, but mostly for benefits (for those that are sick) or poker runs. There's a group that comes by our house every other Saturday. Some look very tough and burley, but are actually pretty nice and polite (when I have met them in stores). I think these were just young kids on barely street legal bikes, that thought they were cool and tough, that seems to happen in numbers of like minded people. They obviously had no care for other's safety and I honestly do not blame the SUV driver for his actions. If I had my children in the car and was surrounded as such...I think I would do the same. He also couldn't stop. Look what they did to him and his vehicle in a public setting, can you imagine what they would have done in the middle of an interstate?
