And here is a photo of Maryann BlakeI found a lot of photos of Anne. She was a beautiful woman. She was married to her first husband for 20 years, but he passed away in 1975. She remarried to John (Rick) Blake in 1977, then went missing in 1980. Her son Pat reported her immediately, and her family suspected Rick had done something to her. He remarried just 7 months later to Maryann without ever officially divorcing Anne. Rick murdered Maryann in 1982 and was sentenced to prison. Anne’s son Pat passed away only 5 years after her disappearance in 1985.
Rest peacefully Anne, Maryann, and Pat
Do we know if Rick is still alive?Really tragic. Without identifying features it would have been hard to connect the body to Anne. STR testing was not around in the early 80s. And with no body, it would have been hard to prosecute the husband...
It’s quite curious how a connection was never made. She was found 2 days after she was last seen alive. I guess the dismemberment was a factor. Poor woman. It’s too bad this man wasn’t caught sooner.
Different counties is all that’s needed. We’ve seen this so many times before; the likeliness that LE in two counties communicated back then was slim to none. It’s quite curious how a connection was never made. A Manhattan man charged with strangling his wife was married to another woman who has been missing since 1980, and police believe she too was the victim of foul play, the Daily News learned yesterday. . . . . The man, Rick Blake, 48, was arrested outside his E. 65th St. apartment at 9:30 a.m. yesterday by Nassau County homicide Detective Robert Walford for the murder of his wife, Maryann. The 41-year-old woman's nude body was found in a shopping center parking lot in Valley Stream, L.I., on Aug. 5. At that time, Blake told police his wife had left the then-Long Beach apartment early in the morning of Aug. 2 without saying where she was going. Later, Blake reportedly told police that he and Maryann had argued the night before she left Through relatives, it was determined that Blake had a history of marital difficulties, Walford said. Police said Blake actually has been married to four different women, Anne, 44, was reported missing by her son, Pat, on March 19, 1980. Investigative sources said Blake apparently never obtained a divorce before marrying the fourth woman, Maryann, seven months after Anne disappeared. Her son told police he suspected foul play when she disappeared on March 15, 1930. About 6 p.m. on that date, she left her job at a chic Fifth Ave. salon, telling co-workers she was going to look for an apartment in Queens, then go home. However, she never arrived at home and did not return to work the next day. Four days later, the family received a telegram from "Anne Blake," saying that "she was under great pressure and needed to get her head together," according to the son. "See you in a couple of weeks," the telegram concluded. But the family never believed the telegram was really from her. "She would never leave like that, without telling us where she was going," the son told police. Shortly after, the Missing Persons Bureau began an investigation.

Thanks @victoriarobinson642 for posting this. After I read it, thought that Rick Blake sounded a lot like Terry Peder Rasmussen. Hope police provide more info on Blake, including a timeline, b/c there could be more victims.
NH - NH/CA - Terry Peder Rasmussen, suspected SK, Allenstown, 1981-2000's - #4
