The article is interesting mentioning the OW and her not being a suspect.
How does everyone feel about that???

The lawyer also noted that Sayles had picked up Ganesh Ramsaran at the Norwich YMCA midday Dec. 11, the day Ganesh Ramsaran reported his missing and the day McBride has said is the date of her murder.

It does give a mention of the benefit which is wonderful!
A group of local people who have formed a Facebook page, Justice for Jennifer Ramsaran, have scheduled a benefit for the victim’s children at the Plymouth fire house at noon Sept. 14.

It seems very ironic (and convenient) that two months before ES's "best friend" is murdered/ goes missing she, who is sleeping with supposed best friends husband, goes to the ADA and does a tell-all about her relationship. Something sounds fishy! Are there really that few options for lawyers in CC? Larger cities are not THAT far- Syracuse, Utica, Binghamtom.... Why would she tell such information about her unfaithfulness to a small town attorney who is ADA? I would be afraid being a small town people would see me going in and out of the office and the gossip mill would be fed. JMO.

Three interesting points to this article concerning the case:

1) Prosecutor does not and has not considered ES a suspect, they say, although they questioned her several times. I suppose passing the polygraph helped her. And the questioning was likely concentrating on what she knew about any incriminating statements GR may have said prior to the murder or after, or his words and demeanor on the day of Jen's death (such as when she gave him a ride home from the Y -- and if that ride home was planned, or just happenstance), and anything he may have said or done in the weeks and months afterward that may have been suspicious. I would expect that she has shared some of that with LE, and that's why she's been named as a material witness. But defense is strongly hinting that she is a suspect, or has been a suspect, or perhaps should be. Interesting that the defense is throwing her under the bus. They must be terrified of what she might say. But, their strategy may backfire -- painting ES as a co-conspirator points toward coldblooded pre-meditation rather than an act of rage during an argument. :shakehead:

2) What none of us know, except for ES and Mr. F, is what ES actually DID tell Mr. Ferrarese. He is bound by attorney-client privilege. So, how would the defense know whether or not she revealed the affair to her lawyer? I would think it unlikely that she would admit it, in a consultation with regard to her own marriage. I mean, who goes to see a lawyer and tells him, "I'd like to divorce my husband because I'm betraying my best friend by sleeping with her husband." :silenced: Isn't it more likely that she fell back on the story that GR was trying to put over on Jennifer -- that ES needed to leave her husband because of the supposed abuse? So she'd look more like a victim than some sort of gold-digger w/no moral compass? And so she'd be more likely to get child custody and child support?

3) We now have a clearer time frame for when Jennifer died, and when her body was likely taken to Center Road, based on the statement: Sayles had picked up Ganesh Ramsaran at the Norwich YMCA midday Dec. 11, the day Ganesh Ramsaran reported his missing and the day McBride has said is the date of her murder.

Wonderful that Joe mentioned the benefit at the firehouse!

Interesting how GR’s attorney has pointed out to everyone that ES had an affair with GR, consulted an attorney about a divorce, and drove GR home at midday after the deed was done.

I don’t think he gives two hoots about which DA’s office prosecutes the case – they all have to abide by the same laws. I think he is laying the foundation for his defense.

What do you think his defense will be?

I agree that it probably won't make much difference if another DA prosecutes the case. Except that a different prosecutor could charge ES as a co-conspirator, if enough evidence exists, without the issue of conflict of interest, which may be tying the hands of Mr. McBride. If that were the case, it might prompt her to make a full confession in exchange for immunity. Which wouldn't bode well for GR. So, if ES was involved, the defense attorney's strategy could backfire.

If ES was not involved, I don't quite understand why the defense keeps dragging her into things, other than trying to influence her testimony or get it squashed altogether.

I am beginning to think the defence is hoping to divert any jury's impressions of betrayal and dishonesty onto the person not on trial for murder. GR is going to be presented as the open, honest one who 'fessed' up to the affair and was always open and honest with the police. He will rely on the things that other people have obviously found so attractive about him to impress the jury too.

I don't think it will work, but I think that's what they will try for.

I saw there was going to be a bikers ice cream run for Jennifer. What's that please, anyone?

I think the defense is on a fishing expedition; seeing what the online groups of people following this case think of various defense strategies :seeya:

We should just start nattering. Give 'em a gazillion posts to read through, so they haven't got time for anything else.

I have become immersed in this case in relationship to another one. I dont have anything to add or really anything articulate to say, but thank you for never losing sight of the victim here even in the midst of the insanity swirling around.

Peace to all of you, but especially to JR's family and little ones.

Hi Z. The bikers ice cream run is a bunch of motorcycle riders that get together and ride from one ice cream shop to another, it brings business to the ice cream shops and the group will end up at the benefit for the auction, raffles etc. They are thinking so far they have around 30 to 40 going!!

I agree :) From here on in, it is all about creating reasonable doubt in the court of public opinion – from which the jurors will be pulled. Defense attorney knows that this is a very-watched case.

At this stage, there’s no need for the defense to publicly confirm to everyone these details about ES, and infer that she was thought of a suspect, unless it is important to see if it creates reasonable doubt.

She's going to be a material witness, no matter who tries the case, and no matter if she saw a privilege-bound divorce attorney or not.

As the DA says, this trial isn’t about ES, it is about GR.

Wow, what a fantastic idea. It sounds like you have organized a really nice, fun event. I don't want to be in anyway disrespectful, but I do think celebrating Jennifer's life, and the fact she gave the world her lovely children, is just as important as grieving for her.

She would have been there, contributing and helping out if this had happened to a Mom she knew, I'm sure. I hope you get some nice photos - and nice press!

Welcome to Jennifer's thread, believe. Nice to see you here supporting this lovely lady who we all feel very protective of.

Jennifer, sadly, is gone, but she has left behind a wonderful family and a wonderful bunch of supporters who have gone to the most amazing lengths to publicize her case and support and protect her loved ones. They have come through thick and thin together and they are not through yet.

Unswayable, undistractable, immovable, determined and very brave are some of the words that spring to mind. The thread's a little quiet at the moment. But I bet they are all still around. Watching. Waiting.

Yes I do believe she would and will be there in spirit Sept. I'm waiting on the bounce house for the kids to play in and we are hoping for a clown to show up for all the kids to enjoy. The raffle items, baked goods and auction items are rolling in to. Jenn has a big part of my heart as well as her hole family and they need to know they all matter.

Ride for Jennifer!!:bicycle:

Far fetched perhaps, but could GR defense say it wasn't him & it might be ES? gR left home & didn't return til later, ES could have gone round, killed JR, removed her body, dumped the truck, gone back for car & picked him up - that's why they are casting a cloud over her ?? A scapegoat???

Very possible Goldilox - but from memory ES was at work at the Y when he came in to make a phone call and get a lift home. So I imagine she would have been there for an amount of time.

I would't doubt his legal people are trying whatever they can at this time.
