wasn't there a rumour at one point that she had been stashing money away? <RS>
She was specifically putting money away for this shopping trip. $500.00 .

I recall a woman jogger who disappeared one morning in MT...About 8 years ago my friend was thinking of leaving her husband. She was a stay at home mom of 2 boys. She had me open a savings account for her and when she would pay with her debit card at Target ect she would take extra cash out that she would in turn give to me to put in her account. So IMO if JR left on her own accords knowing she was not coming back, she possibly could have had a secret bank account. If that is not the case then I feel the only other options IMO are that A. She left to harm herself or B. She left not knowing she would not be back.
I also live not far from where the 2 Iowa girls went missing this summer and law enforcement asked people to search their land and I know several people that went and helped with the searches. This whole search thing has me in a tizzy. I want to say so many things about it but it would be against the rules I am sure.
I did wonder about this, and I've heard that quite a few SAHMs do it - not even necessarily for 'escape' purposes - wasn't there a rumour at one point that she had been stashing money away?
If your friend had then disappeared, and police and the public were appealing for info, do you think you'd have gone to LE and let them know about the secret account?
This case reminds me of Laci Peterson so much. Can't help but link the two.
I guess it's a catch-22. What if she's out there and no one EVER finds her because LE wouldn't allow community members to search? Isn't it better for her to be found, even with the potential risk of disturbing evidence?
In Jennifer's case, does LE think there's evidence out there to be disturbed? Or do they think she left on her own (and therefore, no evidence of a crime anywhere)?

Makes me wonder if this was really for a kid missing when lost from hunting with his dad, or something else related to this case.. there was a massive search conducted and lots of PRESS for this.. all over the scanner -

I still am looking for an answer to what the large presence of law enforcement was in South Plymouth near the waterfalls on SR23 between where Jennifer's cell phone was found and her car was parked. This was on the 18th of December. They were looking in the creek, and under the bridge - Sheriff, Forest Rangers, State Police, Norwich Police Chief were present.
I do know (from my father-in-law who was here at the farm as I was in California) that the day after or day of her cell phone being found, that helicopters were buzzing up and down the SR23 and the Canasawacta Creek tree high with guys with what I assume were infrared cameras or binos hanging out both sides of the helo conducting aerial searches. They spent alot of time going back and forth.
Additionally, husband stated that Jennifer had been shopping for a gift and was interested in purchasing a dress which I presume would be for her to wear.If true, this occurred "earlier in the month" which would indicate this was as recent as sometime during the 10 days prior to her disappearance (Went missing on December 11.).
In other words, could Jennifer have so quickly become so despairingly depressed as to cause self-injury when just days prior to her disappearance she was shopping for a gift for another (thinking of others) and a dress for herself (thinking of her own desires and needs)?

Do you think they were actually looking for Jennifer? Was there really a missing kid??
This part of the article is very strange:
"The general public is asked NOT to go into the woods to attempt to assist. But anyone living in the area is asked to call the Sheriff's Office if someone knocks on their door."
VERY strange!!! :what: If there's a missing kid out there, why would you need to call the Sheriff's Office if someone knocks on your door (instead of answering the door and taking the kid in from the cold, and then calling LE)? That makes it sound all spooky and nefarious.
