JUN 11, 2019

"....MacVilla, who was reported missing on Sept. 25, was found dead on Oct. 2 in heavy brush on Kringsbush Road near an access road that has powerlines running parallel to the road. Her body was found by Larry Thompson, who lives on Kringsbush Road...

Thompson testified that he immediately called 911 as soon as he discovered her body.

That recording from the 911 call was played during the testimony of Fulton County sheriff’s deputy Corey Unlinger. In the recording, Thompson was heard to sound shaken up and crying as he frantically told police that he found a deceased female....

State Trooper Jason Kemmet, who testified that he took days to view the footage from the surveillance video said he was looking for a gray sedan. Nellis had allegedly driven a gray vehicle, which Fulton County District Attorney Chad Brown said in his opening statement on Wednesday, there is surveillance video that shows MacVilla getting into what appeared to be a silver car...."

First name is Larry.

From the same article: "Days following the discovery of MacVilla’s body, investigators went door-to-door to residents living on Kringsbush Road when they obtained surveillance video from Barbara Susi, who testified that she rides her four wheeler down the access road often."

A deputy reviewed the surveillance video and testified he saw a gray sedan like Nellis' driving down the road a few times at 12:30 am on the 25th

Nellis’ DNA on victim’s clothes

JUN 14, 2019

"JOHNSTOWN — Several items of evidence, more than a hundred guns and DNA played a crucial role in the investigation that led to the arrest of Daniel Nellis for the alleged murder of Michaela MacVilla, and those items were presented to the jury in Nellis’ trial on Thursday in Fulton County Court.....

Investigator Dennis Rounds testified on Thursday that he found a set of keys at Nellis’s residence at 758 Route 108, Oppenheim that matched the locks to that Dolgeville apartment....

Testifying to the items collected to be analyzed in the forensics lab and to be tested for DNA were forensics scientist Daisha King and forensics investigator Peter Lewis.

King testified items she tested were items from the sexual assault kit performed on MacVilla, including head hair, pubic hair, anal swab, cervical swab, vaginal swab, vulvar swab, oral swabs, fingernail scrapings, swabs from a bite mark on MacVilla’s neck and swabs from a bite mark on her left hip....

All of the swabs and evidence items were passed on to be analyzed for DNA by Lewis. He testified that Nellis’ DNA was found on MacVilla’s cell phone, the anal swab, fingernail scrapings, neck, cervical swab, the black Stewart’s jacket, the sock, MacVilla’s black pants and her underwear.

Reports of the DNA findings were then presented to the jury.

The trial will resume today."
