I have trouble gaining weight after 40. :waitasec:

I think the pics really can't be truly evaluated in a true time frame as we really don't know when they were taken?

I judge by the size of the kids because they are always growing. Smaller kids = older picture - taller kids = newer picture. also the last picture has a caption that says it was 9 weeks ago, and that was back in august, so it could not have been too long before he was missing.

Used to have the same problem :( my whole life actually... what happened? Men.... :drumroll: menopause! :laughingfloor: :sly: :laughingfloor::sly: :banghead::eek::D;) I must be so tired I am deliriously laughing at my own stupid jokes

I had to take oxycodon for a broken leg and I have to say I could never become addicted to them, because of the constipation side effect! I weaned myself off and accepted some of the pain, because the constipation was worse! Lol

I'm just posting this here just in case RM had mentioned an issue with constipation to family or friends. It could point to RM possibly having a problem with opiates. RM may have kept an addiction as a secret. I'm not saying he was addicted. I have no clue and this could be way off base.

"The neighbor's video footage prompted Mayer's wife to search their home for clues. In a drawer, she found his cell phone, wallet and about $300 cash. All of the items had been with Mayer on the day of his disappearance, suggesting he or whoever had been driving his vehicle had placed them in the drawer."

BBM. So now he had his wallet all day? Despite IM saying from the very beginning that he'd left it at home and that he had a habit of doing this? And why is this worded so perfectly? ("All of the items had been with Mayer on the day of his disappearance...") Why is this stated as an absolute fact all of a sudden?

The way everything is explained in this article answers some of the questions we've needed clarity on since the beginning. Why now? Plus, I also agree that the new info given is really manipulative. He looked worried on the tape? When was it viewed? If viewed early on, why wouldn't you mention this before, even on FB?

I also don't think the apnea is a big deal / necessarily needed to have been mentioned before, but why even mention it now? Just to throw something else out there? I realize this is what we wanted - more info, more clarity, but I feel... very much like someone is reading this and now wanting to seem like they're doing the 'right' actions and having the 'normal' response.

Very frustrating.

Edited to bold WALLET not phone. :)

snipped> Roughly one week after Robert Mayer disappeared, one of his neighbors discovered the missing man's car had been captured by his security camera on the afternoon of his disappearance. The video does not show the inside of the vehicle, but it does show the car pulling into the Mayer's driveway at about 2:40 p.m. The vehicle leaves approximately 10 minutes later. Mayer’s wife is captured arriving in her vehicle at about 3 p.m.

The neighbor's video footage prompted Mayer's wife to search their home for clues. In a drawer, she found his cell phone, wallet and about $300 cash. All of the items had been with Mayer on the day of his disappearance, suggesting he or whoever had been driving his vehicle had placed them in the drawer. However, the fact that the items were found in the drawer is not particularly unusual, as his wife said it would not be abnormal for him to place those items there at the end of a work week.

"I just know something's wrong," Ida Mayer said. "He didn't just pick up and go. If that was the plan then why come home? What would the reason have been? I usually would have been home at that time, I just happened to be at my moms.

BBM
1. Neighbors video comes to light a week later. So it took a week for IM to search for missing items. Article says the video prompted her search.

2. Why did he come home? I would guess to drop those items off and perhaps pick something up.

3. Usually home at that time, but just happened to be at Moms'.

I am dismissing the parts about partial view of his car as I do believe it was him. I am also dismissing the CPAP (while relevant, I think it is a distraction)

I believe there are many distractions tossed out to confuse and manipulate.
:twocents:

all from my memory:

-wallet left home, so no id for scrap yard or wallet left in garage in 10 minute stop.

-phone found, phone not found, phone found

-car found in the exact spot he used to park, loves car to much to leave it

-medical condition? headaches or sleep apnea requiring cpap released 3 months later

-video at scrap yard, video not working, looks worried in non-existant video

-last call dropped? I love you at end of call?

-it was just like any other day? Nervous energy in days leading to disappearance.

Added by me: Bike no bike?

What else?

Is there any one fact that is not subject to change?

Good post, thanks.
I believe there are many non truths and distractions since day one. :twocents:

no, the camera shot shows the vehicle on the road, its clearly his car and they only checked that camera because they know rob tended to drive down their block on his way back from work... there is no shot of the car pulling in to the driveway or of him getting out...

All the information regarding calls and texts were combed through and all leads go nowhere with the phone... there was at one point early on that there was at one point early on that we thought of someone Rob associated with as he(ROB) lied about being in touch with him when asked by IM only to find out they were in touch through texts...
it got all messed up with where the phone was just like the media got mixed up and posted rob was working in the city... the media for this case is horrible, and i truly believe that had it been a woman/mother missing it would get a lot more attention... also, our family, more than most didnt know how to handle the release of information especially since we didnt know what happened... there was no ransom, no nothing no idea what happened so Ida didnt wanna just start bringing up personal matters unless they were tied directly to the case... i mean in all honesty if my son/daughter went missing ans he was in college, would i alert the press that he was known to smoke weed? No i wouldnt... if i had found out that he was selling weed on campus and was tied with big drug dealers and felt it was related then yes i would tell the public...

BBM and enlarged this is the hint that makes me think about drugs.
The texts to me mean he was in contact with someone and lied It's pretty straight forward. Syntax seem irrelevant to me.

ETA: It was twice reported by verified insider that Rob did not have his wallet that day, now reported that indeed he did. Who to believe?

:peace: Cathy, I mean nothing personal here in my rather errrr heated opinionated opinion  I get a bit defensive of the victim who I consider to be RM until we know more facts, may we ever know any facts. There is no ruled-out or unreasonable theory here. This may be drug related (I hope not). I have been known to go WAY out in left field with a theory so I'm not dissing that, ANYTHING is possible as of yet. I read NCNY's postings and took them to be very ambiguous. My first thought of 'the problem/s that hit lots of Long Islander's these days' (my paraphrase) was = $MONEY. I just wanted to say (in too many words) I mean no disrespect or offense. I simply get a bit overly defensive when I sense the victim is being victimized. Overall, RM comes off as a decent, hard working, family guy (to me). JMO of course.
Codger, prescription drug sales and usage, doctors getting arrested, pharmacies getting robbed and people shot in pharmacies is big news on Long Island right now.

Money problems? Not so much. We are rebounding here from the dark days. We're climbing our way back up and most of us weren't yet contemplating putting $75,000 extensions on our homes less than a year ago.

If it's so then how comes that the neighbor's video footage, surfacing a week later, prompted Mayer's wife to search their home for clues.

Why didn't she search immediately to check whether he was or not at home while she was at her mom's?

Another thing which bothers me is that we have seen pictures of RM, with IM, kids and many of them with IM parents.

Did he not have a single photo with his mom or sister? Or I have missed that??!!!

I think he showed it at Arrow that day! JMO

I have to say about vacations that it's easy to put on weight, and if one of their vacations was a cruise, well, the food is quite good I hear. Now I don't know if a person would gain 20 to 30 pounds on vacation, but gaining weight is pretty easy to do if you're just chillin' and eating some good food.
IMOO.

I worked on cruise ships for 6 years.
You can eat 20 times a day and on top of that there is room service add to that the drinks you might consume....It is very very easy to gain a lot of weight on a cruise.

they have casinos and I think that is where the slot machine pic came from.

Personally I don't think it has anything at all to do with drugs! JMO

The I nervousness I attribute to him going to do something very drastic..

If it was normal for him to leave his personal effects in the garage at the end of the week WHY WEREN'T THE NORMAL PLACES CHECKED FOR AN ENTIRE WEEK?!!!!

I realize she had it in her mind that he left the wallet there before work but it bogles the mind that other possibilities were not explored and/or investigated.

I agree, he had it all day. So why were we told that he did not?
Why was our insider told that he did not? Who's lying?

Could it be that he looked scared in the video at scrap yard because he was followed there and maybe owed a lot of money to soemone? Maybe he knew today was the day that he had to pay a big loan and couldn't? None of this is really making any sense.
I thnk he was involved in soemthing he should not have been and was killed for it. Police do not have enough info to say that a crime was committed or maybe they do and they want to throw off the investigation.
This case is really strange. I don't thnik he's alive. It cold have been a mob hit as it's too clean.

yes

Direct proof of willful intent to defraud rarely surfaces
