Two things I am stunned govt workers are working on a Friday night this late and..............

can we do a quick poll?

Do you think they are in the area or gone? Lets go 5 miles from the prison!

I think gone - you guys ?

Definitely gone. And I still stand behind my assertion that they made it across the border.

I gotta change this Avatar. As much as i love my flag it's big and bright.

You would think someone would advise the husband to get an attorney, but it appears he's talking to investigators as well, possibly without one.

Money from who?

I think the boys told both mr and mrs tillie that they would pay them if they helped them get out - and they beleived it! I def think hubby is active particpant !

Interesting , channel 5 says cops are looking in mailboxes to see if any mail is piling up - thats kind cool!

I think they are much further away than where the police have been looking. Dog was just on Fox News and said sweat/matt borrowed Mitchell's cell phone. They probably had another ride all setup. IMO. I wonder if the police will be able to see who they called if they really used her phone?

I think they are long gone. I suspect that the escapee's dumped JM not the other way around. We know that they borrowed JM's phone. Who did they call? I believe they had people on the outside assisting them and they are probably thousands of miles away - maybe even in Canada.

If they were truly on foot it does not make sense that 7 days later they have not been found nor have they tried to steal a car. Given the mountainous terrain in this area I doubt that they would attempt to flee through the forest as they wouldn't get very far.

At the presser earlier today LE said there have been NO confirmed sightings in seven days! Also the officer seem to imply that the massive manhunt in the area around the prison was more for the peace of mind of the local residents.

While I was out I thought of a reason Tillie's hubby may have been involved. Maybe he agreed to help them on the condition they took Tillie with them.

:hilarious:

Training may not be as comprehensive as the COs receive, and even then, in NY at least, we have seen female COs involved with inmates.

My own opinion, is even when there is solid training about dangers of being manipulated by the inmates, etc. the tone is set from the top down and by the employees' immediate supervisors.

Employees may know what they can & can't get away within the institutions. Also, perhaps similar to Blue Wall within LE among the employees at facility IDK.

I want to be careful here. I worked in a prison. Therapist. The corrections folks (the folks that moved them around the faciility, took them to the yard etc) were not trained folk. Most of them , in fact were high school drop outs, that realized the pay was better than McDonalds or Wal Mart.

We often had to caution them about their behaviors when interacting with the guys. They are not a trained group of folks.Very often the guys were far "brighter" than the COs. They are tought the rules, how to line them up, how to do take downs, how the locking and unlocking procedures work.

They are not trained folks, and yes, it was very easy for the guys to manipulate them. They obviously had different relationships with the CO's than they did us and administration types. THey spend much more time with them, and the CO's liked some of the guys, while disdaining some of the other guys.

THese are not folks trained in things like boundaries- we had to correct correction officers often in terms of the way they would interact with the guys. Basically it is a job that pays better than McDonalds and basically consists of moving folks around in a line, locking and unlocking some doors, escorting them to group, the yard, or to eat, wrestle them to the ground in a take down and get them in seclusion if they became agitated or threatening.

Many of them had power/control issues. Its not a skilled position is what I am trying to say- its walking the guys around in essense.

TWCNews.com is showing her being led in to be arraigned, walking in cuffs through the rain.

I can't believe this lady talked that much without a plea.
Watching Fox. :blushing: :hiding:

Thanks for this insight, CARIIS. I have very little understanding of how things work in prisons (other than how Hollywood portrays it).

I think of all of the troubles we hear about our local detention center and while there would definitely be other key issues (significant overcrowding) I'm going to guess that some of the factors you mention (e.g. lack of training in the people skills) are also contributors.
