Double monk strap shoes? IF that's what she was wearing, they're still available today.

Yes but I still see some sort of spiky studs on the side, am I imaging things? The submission has been sent it. I hope her brother gets closure soon.

The side by side shoe comparison to me is off. The deceased shoe pic looks more like a long spiky metal type spur of some sort rather than buckles (?)

Aurora90...glad you reached out to LE. Even if it's not Valarie, it still brings a little attention to this cold case and gets a pair of fresh eyes on it.
I am curious though what the metal looking "object " is on the shoe.

Aurora90..have you heard anything back from LE?

On May 4, 1974 Valarie Lorraine Cuccia (NamUs #MP8048) was last seen. According to Valarie's namus profile, she was last seen wearing black boots with studs on sides.

Less than 2 weeks later Burlington Jane Doe (NamUs #UP1597) was found in Jersey. This unidentified female appears to be wearing some sort of shoe with studs or spikes on the sides.

I have sent an email to DoeNetwork and NamUs.

Would be nice to get confirmation either way....

I read that the unidentified female had a partial dental plate. Do we know if Valarie wore one? I cannot find anything stating that she did.
The metal object on the side of the heeled shoe or boot is interesting, hard to make out though.

Hello *****,

Thank you for the crime tip. There have been hundreds of people that have been ruled out over the last 5 decades. I’m unsure if this person has but we will look into the similarities.

This was the reply I finally got today from NY VICAP. Thankfully it's being looked into.

From Courier Post 5/22/1974
I just realized, she was last seen on May 7th, Jane Doe was found on May 17th. And according to this news article, the body is believed to have been in the water for 10 days.....

That plus the shoes, makes this case interesting.

I wonder if body decomp in the water for 10 days changes the height and/or weight...
