Exactly. And from the live feed someone posted yesterday it sounded like the parents immediately knew it was her. Items of clothing perhaps?

I had the thought that possibly this dead girl is the other girl Alianna was supposedly seen with at McDonalds, but then there would have been reports of another missing teenager, and we did not hear of any.

ETA afterthought: they don't wear school uniforms in Ohio, do they?

Cleveland schools have uniforms...certain colors, types of clothes, etc., but not all the same exact items from a certain vendor like some private schools.

So tragic. may justice be swift and harsh!

I didn't see anywhere where her school was. As in where was the second bus taking her? Not that it matters, I guess. Seems there'd be a closer school. Maybe she was going farther than some for special programs which seems counterintuitive, of course, but it's a pretty big city and they have to pick a place for them.

@tlcya That was actually a great video. Informative, realistic. I think the council people in these city areas outside of downtown really care. There just isn't enough money and I don't know how willing other local entities are to get with the councilman and spend their resources on these cases on this. I'm not saying anything...

The Homicide Unit will work with the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office to determine the final cause of death.

Officials are offering a $20,000 reward for any information leading to an arrest.

As of late Monday, the medical examiner still had not released the identity of the murder victim. However, multiple sources say police believe the female found in the vacant home is the missing girl.

I note that a person claiming to be a family member has started a fundraising effort for burial costs. :( I do not see a time listed for when the breifing will come from the FBI and CPD. If anyone knows when that is expected please let us know.

Right, gotcha. I didn't even think of that. Thanks!

SM CLE feeds are all about snow bans, plowing, and the fallen officer that I've seen today.

Is it just me? After we know the parents were on scene and believe this to be their daughter, it shocked me to see the above reward announced before the identity of this victim.

These poor parents are in such misery waiting for an answer. What is the hold up? Grrrr!!!

While is is great that an a reward is being offered, it is too low, IMO, to be of any use. If this is a serial killer in this neighborhood, he/she has their skill down pretty good to have not been caught yet.

The girl Alianna was seen with is of interest to me. Was she the killer's patsy to find him a girl? If so, that makes him more vulnerable as having someone "in the know", means more of a chance the girl will talk to a friend or will fall out with him, and then talk, if she is not killed too. Perhaps the killer is a female?

Back to the identification. Is someone missing that we are not aware of? There are so many ways to identify a person, why can't or aren't they identifying this body? Let's only think positively.

I have to go out for a few hours. I am so hoping when I check back in, the identity is made, or FOUND for Alianna is posted.

Just an afterthought. Could this victim be the girl that was seen with Alianna?

Perhaps they were close in size and build, so that is where the problem is?

The I TEAM has learned that video shows her getting off the bus and then crossing the street.

Police searching homes found the dead body two blocks from where Alianna got off the bus heading to school.

The I TEAM checked and found dozens and dozens of sex offenders living in the area where the body was found Sunday. Who’s to blame?

CLEVELAND - Cleveland police and the FBI will hold a joint press conference Tuesday regarding the case of a missing 14-year-old girl.

Alianna Defreeze has been missing since last Thursday morning when she boarded a bus for school in the 3400 block of East 149th Street. She never actually arrived at school.

Crimestoppers will also be at the press conference Tuesday, announcing reward money that will be offered in the case.

Just opened this thread and read all the posts. Preying on the vulnerable gets me so mad!

I'm concerned why the body has not been positively identified yet. The presser is soon so perhaps we'll learn more today.

They have a homicide investigation and a missing person investigation, until positive ID they will not announce who that person is

Today we are going to provide an update

Mayor

rep from crime stoppers.

Mayor speaking wants to say to families of victims of unsolved homicides have his condolences. Wants to assure people with missing family members we are still looking for them.

Chief: Here to give you update with homicide investigation and missing persons investigation. We are working with teh other agencies involved to solve the homocide. There has NOT been a positive identification. We have a strong idea who that person is. We are in constant contact with that family. But we will not be positively identifying the victim at this time.
