I'm simply amazed at this neighborhood! Where were the big brothers/little brothers the fathers the boyfriends, the friends, ex's and grown children etc.
Rape, attempted rape, missing women. Women pulled off the street. HUH!!! If the Police wouldn't react why not the people that this man preyed on for years. People call the cops when they smell a dead body or two......What they walk around all summer holding their noses and gag.
Bust the door down.

According to Whitepages.com, Anthony lived at 12205 Imperial Avenue. Also listed at that address are Thomas & Segerna Sowell, I'm assuming his father and stepmother. I read earlier that the elderly male has passed away and that the elderly female was moved to a nursing home. Does anyone know when or how Thomas passed? Also, I hope LE is looking into Segerna's whereabouts. I get the awful feeling that they aren't going to find her in a nursing home....

There were two girls that went missing from Cleveland, Amanda Barry and Gina DeJesus, around that time frame but I read an article somewhere that it wasn't them.

My prayers are with the families of the people killed by this monster.

Edit: Amanda went missing in 2003, and Gina did in 2004 so the time frame is off.

Wow, that is really close to this guys house. I don't recall seeing her mentioned either. One of the stories that I have read, said that 4 families have come forward with missing persons, so far.

One of the bodies is probably that aunt or stepmother that is supposed to be in the nursing home. I haven't heard that she has turned up.

Officers arrived at the property Thursday to arrest Sowell on a separate rape charge. He wasn't there, but the smell of decay was so thick that officers headed upstairs.

"The stench of decay was overwhelming," said Lt. Thomas Stacho, spokesman for the police department. "The closest I got was 15 feet from an open door, and it was more than bad enough. I can't figure out how the neighbors didn't know something was wrong."

If the stench was so "thick" Thursday, how did authorities overlook the same stench only a month before on 9/22. I find it hard to believe that there wasn't a stench at the end of summer but there is now. I doubt these women were killed since then as the reports say the bodies were decomposed beyond recognition, one so badly that they can't even determine cause of death. How was this missed? I know the house is next door to Ray's Sausage and the "stench" could be attributed to this, but neighbors have said the smells from there are good, not like rotting flesh.

Has anyone seen any reports as to when Mrs. Sowell was "moved to a nursing home"?

ETA: Oopsie! Nevermind. I didn't see page 2 of the article and it says she was moved about a year ago because she had trouble going up the stairs. Also, they are still trying to "locate" her. I have a feeling they already have, in her own home....

As a registered sex offender, Mr Sowell was required to check in regularly at the sheriff’s office, which said he complied. Officers also visited his home, most recently on September 22, just hours before the woman reported being raped there.

Because he was not on parole or probation, officials did not have the right to enter his house, until Thursday when they had search and arrest warrants.

As a VIOLENT SEX OFFENDER, the authorities should be able to search a home without a warrant whether the offender is on parole/probation or not. The laws need to be changed so that authorities can search the home of a VIOLENT sex offender, like Anthony Sowell, without obtaining a search warrant. Authorites have to know that offenders such as AS are habitual and incurable and should not be protected by the same rights that the rest of us, good and law abiding citizens, are. They shouldn't be released from prison to begin with. I will say that, at least, AS served his entire sentence, even if it was too short. But, by him serving his whole sentence, he was released with complete freedom to commit these heinous crimes and who knows how many others....

Address is listed as same as suspect, possible elderly relative that AS told neighbors had to be moved to nursing home around a year ago because she was having trouble climbing the stairs.

This is so sad. I hope all of these women come home to their families. It's sad if these are the women found in the Sowell home, but at the same time it will bring closure to the families. They're in my thoughts and prayers.

IMO

I would think the smell of dead bodies would be enough probable cause. I'm confused about the details on the Sept 22nd victim. I've seen details where she jumped off the balcony and was injured and EMT's responded. Did she make a report right away? Did she report the smell then? Why didn't LE arrest him that day? Why did it take over a month to get a search warrant? Either we are missing a whole lot of details or LE and the probation department dropped the ball big time on this one. Not that it would have saved any of the previous victims tho.
