Drugs aided a fantasy life where he had some power with women, the fantasies grew stronger to where he had control of women. By that time he may have given up on ever being able to connect with a woman, enough to have a wife or a regular woman in his life.

I do question where his bio mother was in his life. There is mention of a sister, a father who died several years ago and a stepmother. But I am not hearing about a mother. So it is possible that his experiences with the mother or the lack of a mother may have had some impact too.

I agree with your guess, Myst. Makes a lot of sense. However, I do wonder if he's responsible for any missing persons in the areas he was while in the Marines. His timid nature may have made it easier for him to conceal his crimes and as he got older and his psychotic behavior escalated out of control, he possibly just became more careless. Scary to think.

I really would like more information on his mother,their relationship and her relationship with others in the family, I'm sure it will come out eventually. I would also like to know if his sister (Barbara, I believe) also has a different mother than AS. His brother, Allen, has said that AS is his half-brother by their father, different mothers. Another thing I would like to know is how long Segerna was his stepmother? Was she there from an early age or were there other stepmothers? For some reason and THANKFULLY, AS spared her which is not at all what I, along with many others, expected, including Allen. It says, to me, that towards her, his heart isn't completely black. That poor woman, though, to have to watch the horrors of her home unfold on the TV like that. I'm so glad Allen was able to make contact with her. I wonder if she has other family/children. On Veromi.com there is a John Sowell age 46 listed. I wonder if that is another sibling of AS, possibly Segerna's child with Thomas? Or maybe a child of Allen/AS' nephew. Either way, I hope she has a loving support system. I'm glad she was located SAFE, though I still wonder what saved her from the same fate as the other six.

So sad that some of these women may not have even been missed by loved ones. Some probably never even reported as missing. :( This WIMP preyed on weak women. The missing women we know about so far are SMALL women, some of them with drug/alcohol problems, some of lonely in need of a friend. To him they were easy targets. So not only is he a WIMP, but an extremely lazy one.:loser:

they absolutely would...it's so sad. but the police always have the well we tried to do something about it, but the public just wouldn't talk to us excuse don't they...lol. i hear it everytime there is a horrific situation in a poor area where it looks like situations could have been avoided if the PD would have done something prior. in this particular situation, i think all of the people were already gone by the time of the September incident, but i still wish they would have moved faster on that one...

Four families of missing women have submitted DNA samples to the coroner's office to help identify the bodies. Authorities are seeking samples from Sowell as well

What bothers me is the coroners office didn't just send a van....they sent plural vans. How many bodies are they expecting to find?
 
I had a feeling that this wouldn't end with the 6.

I wonder what he used all the trash bags for. I wonder if the bodies that they found were in the bags.
 
Poor Ray's Sausage Company....they were blamed for years! Also an investigation has been started to see why the health department didn't pick up on this since they received calls that the smell was "like a dead body". And still no one can figure out why LE didn't smell it on Sept 22nd.

For the past few years, neighbors assumed the foul smell enveloping their street corner had been coming from a brick building where workers churned out sausage and head cheese.
It got so bad that the owners of Ray's Sausage replaced their sewer line and grease traps. Now they know the odor was coming from a three-story house next door where the decomposing bodies of six women were found.

"We hope they don't find anymore," said Renee Cash, whose family has operated the sausage company for 57 years.
About four years ago, she and other workers started noticing a smell that was so bad on some days that it forced them to leave their office.
"In the summertime, it was gross," Cash said. "You could always smell it. It smelled like something rotten."
They poured bleach down the sewer in the basement and eventually had it replaced. Health inspectors thought the meat processing was to blame, she said.

oh dear....lots of people are counting ballots today, but Cleveland PD is counting bodies.

it must be just mortifying to live in the area right now-- and be LEO on the scene!
