CLEVELAND — On June 17, 2023, 15-year-old Keshaun Williams went missing in Cleveland.

Monday now marks one year since his disappearance, which also sparked an Ohio Amber Alert as authorities and his family continue to search for answers.

*****
Newburg Heights Police Chief John Majoy has chaired the Northeast Ohio Amber Alert Committee since 2014. In that time he says they've issued 36 Amber Alerts -- 35 of which have been successful. All that remains is the one issued for Keshaun.

*****
Chief Majoy says the Amber Alert has remained active because doing so continues to highlight that Keshaun may be in danger.

There were allegedly witnesses who saw him in a vehicle? Could LE really not get more information, obtain warrants, etc. based on information from these witnesses? I assume his DNA is in the vehicle. Between security cameras, GPS, and other technology, this should be a solvable case in this day and age, or so we would hope. And yet, more than one person has likely gotten away with this? It is infuriating.

He was last seen at a party on the night of the 17th and spoke to his Mom on the phone that night. According to police she did not report him missing until the 20th. So the delay in the Amber Alert may have been to the timing of the missing report and evidence (or lack thereof) of an actual abduction, though the reports of the SUV he was last seen in went out pretty quickly 'I miss your smile': Mother of missing 15-year-old pleas for tips to bring him home safely

One thing I may have missed but the Ohio Attorney General missing info for him stated he "may be in need of medication". Could whatever medication he was on have interacted with alcohol (which his Mom said was being consumed at the party) and he had a bad reaction and everyone there just panicked and now won't talk because there were reported gang members there? Just my thoughts. Missing Person -

When Keshaun's mother reported him missing, he had simply not come home from a party. According to police she did not report him missing until the 20th, the third day after the party. So the delay in the Amber Alert may have been to the timing of the missing report and evidence (or lack thereof) of an actual abduction.

Also I don't remember seeing any mention made of "may be in need of medication" as reported by the Ohio Attorney General missing page. Could he have had a bad interaction between some alcohol, which we know was at the party, and whatever medication me night have been taking? If so, things could have gone badly quickly and everyone panicked and now won't talk. Just my thoughts. Missing Person -

Case of missing teen Keshaun Williams who vanished in June of 2023: Cleveland police, US Marshals to give update at 12 p.m. Wednesday

Keshaun became the focus of an Ohio Amber Alert after he vanished in Cleveland.

CLEVELAND — It has been nearly 16 months since Keshaun Williams went missing in Cleveland on June 17, 2023. Keshaun, who was 15 years old at the time of his disappearance, then became the focus of an Ohio Amber Alert with reward money offered in the case.

Now, for the first time in months, we're expecting an update "pertaining to the status of the investigation" at 12 p.m. Wednesday as the Cleveland Division of Police and the U.S. Marshals Office hold a joint press conference.

We plan to stream the press conference live inside this story. You can also watch live coverage on our YouTube channel (subscribe here).

The officials expected to speak at the press conference include:
  • Sergeant Wilfredo Diaz, Cleveland Division of Police Public Information Officer
  • Deputy U.S. Marshal Piccoli
Keshaun was described as 5'7" tall and weighs 130 pounds with brown eyes at the time he was reported missing. He was last seen wearing black jogging pants and a T-shirt.

Anybody with information has been asked to call 1-866-4-WANTED.

U.S. Marshals, police give update on missing Cleveland teenager Keshaun Williams

From the press conference:

Recent developments around the disappearance suggest Keshaun was last seen walking away from the house party and subsequently entering a dark-colored SUV with a group of juvenile males. Early on a black Jeep was reported as a suspect vehicle; that is NOT accurate, but they now believe the dark-colored SUV is accurate. This information came from recent calls and tips.

Law enforcement believes that there are individuals who still know what happened to Keshaun. They confirm the above information is the most accurate they have to date. They have been actively searching and continue to do so. There are no pictures at this time of any example vehicles. The new information specifically calls out the additional group of juveniles in the vehicle with Keshaun.

Keshaun's grandmother says she knows that people know what happened, and they are praying that these individuals come forth with more information. She wants to help those who are in need of help, and is asking for that help for her family in return.

Additionally, the reward money offered for information in this case leading to resolving it has been raised to $27,500 dollars, thanks to a partnership with Crimestoppers.
