A legal battle about evidence against a Dayton man accused of killing a Mansfield couple and the woman’s unborn baby has delayed until June a jury trial that was supposed to start this week.
DAYTON — A jury has found a man guilty who was accused of killed a Mansfield couple who had been reported missing when their bodies were discovered in Dayton.
Larry Rodgers, 33, was indicted on multiple felonies, including aggravated murder, for the deaths of Todd Burkhart, Kyla Hayton and her unborn child in November 2019. The jury found him guilty on all charges, prosecutors said.
Charges against Rodgers:
Aggravated murder: 4 counts
Murder: 4 counts
Kidnapping: 4 counts
Felonious assault: 4 counts
Involuntary manslaughter: 2 counts
Having weapons as a felon (under disability): 1 count
