The blood and broken door doesn't jive... Didn't Chris Sr go up there with Billy? I'm confused because after Chris was shot Jake had his keys too.
I imagine his adrenaline was through the roof and he was fumbling w/ the keys/couldn't find the correct one quickly and got frustrated and just broke it off imo

I could be wrong, but I believe the judge set aside 8-9 weeks for the trial. I am wondering too about this combined effort among all LE to opt out of audio/video. I wonder if an "order" has been handed down to police in Pike County? Any ideas?

Thanks, I was looking at my old calendar for the trials, which still showed Billy's scheduled for the end of October. His is now changed to be much later than that.

It will be a long, hard trial for the journalists trying to cover it with so many restrictions.

approached Sheriff Evans in the hallway and asked "“Sheriff, any comment on why you are opting out of having your testimony recorded?” His answer, specifically, “I have no comment on that.”

Even without some unofficial order, I can imagine that, if every LE officer before you opts out, that you could feel out of place saying “yes” instead. Following the flow before you probably plays some factor, and that doesn’t even get into the idea of Police brothers & sisters backing their own and whatnot. JMHO

I wonder if the camera people, having no work to perform in this courtroom, will eventually decide to pull out their equipment long before trial ends.

Good questions.

I bet the old sheriff would have testified in public. JMO

At first I thought this was ok, but I'm beginning to wonder about all the local LE doing it. Hopefully BCI and the outside experts will testify in public. Otherwise, are we looking at a possible mistrial? Or is the judge trying to prevent a mistrial? IDK I wish @PrairieWind or someone would drop in.
I have never encountered this situation where witnesses are allowed to opt out of tv coverage. But I don't think there is anything illegal about it. I don't know what Ohio's laws are on this however. The witnesses are still testifying in open court, just not on TV. And I don't know that the Defense has objected have they?

LE appears to have formed a united front. Might this intimidate other witnesses?

No, pretty sure defense hasn't objected. Just the public and the news media.

It probably works in favor of the defendant by decreasing the level of media coverage of the trial. JMO

I be this makes everyone's job in the courtroom easier, except for the media.

It's called an FOIA (Freedoms Of Information Act) request. But, we will most likely have to wait for the trial to commence before they will/can release it. Uniquely, since BW still has to stand trial they might not release it all until his case is over in order to not taint his jury pool. $20 says it'll be 2024 before we can file an FOIA.
FOIA will cost a fortune....unfortunately. We, as a public, are entitled to witness court hearings, paid for via us, the taxpayers. I believe this one is even being partially funded via federal funds from what I understand.

IMO, it's very simple. They have to go back to the community members families they are testifying against. LE has families they worry about too. They don't need/want an additional target on them. Again, very simple.

Hello all sluethers. First time posting here. I've been following this case and Webslueths since the Wagner arrests and must say your comments and insight on these evil crimes has been impressive...I have a couple of questions maybe you can help with: On opening statements, what was the sequence of events presented as to what unfolded at CRSR's? After CRsr. was shot from outside through the door, did BW then enter in ALONE and continue to shoot CRsr? If so, was he able to overcome GR as well, at the same time, while being in the trailer alone?...Also, did GW4's attorneys change defense strategy? At the earlier motion hearings they claimed "George shot and killed no one" but didn't deny he was there. In opening statements, his attorney stated not only was he not there but he knew nothing of this? Did I hear this wrong?..hopefully one of you can help clarify. Thank You
