Have ya'll ever had a friend or known someone that was associated with things, but always seemed to be the good guy. Never really fully in, but not fully out and you get the feeling they are wishy washy or trying to portray they are one way, but they are behind the scenes involved in the shenanigan's?

Agent stated this interview was on Sept 9 2016. I don't know if it's been said when the investigators received and started any wires taps, etc. but I'm assuming that on the day of this interview there were none in place yet. If so it would have been interesting to hear who BW called and what was said.

I listened to the whole rambling interview but still don't understand why this was presented today except to indicate how BCI conducted their interviews of anyone. But something put them on the trail of the Ws I must have missed any clue from this interview.

According to Scheiderer's Bond testimony it was many months before BCI was on the Wagner's trail. This interview shows this.

What really made them start to investigate the Wagners Canepa said during her opening statement was 2 things.

The Wagners kept saying custody was fine but other people they talked to kept saying the opposite, that the Wagners we're not happy with the custody.

So they investigated further and found out all about how the Wagners took custody of George's son, keeping his mother from seeing him etc....

Canepa:

And so early in the investigation you go out and get video footage from anybody who purchased that shoe in 2016.

Scheiderer:
Correct.

Canepa:
In the Walmart in a 50 mile radius.

Scheiderer:
Correct.

Canepa:
Of Pike County. Did the scientist also determine that was a fairly new shoe?

Scheiderer:
Yes. There was, there was little to no tread wear on that, on those specific shoes.

Canepa:
Ok so you thought you were looking for a shoe that was fairly recently purchased?

Scheiderer:
Correct.

Canepa:
Ok. And that was months before you ever suspected that the Wagners were ...

Scheiderer:

Correct.

Canepa:
... the killers.

Just that one text I find to telling.

"got company"

However did Billy know what that exactly was meant by those 2 words.

Why would Billy need to avoid coming up if LE was there? Doesn't he want to be so helpful in figuring out who the hell killed his best friend, his granddaughters mom, and all those people he talked highly of just a few months prior? Wonder why George would need to warn Billy and do it so secretively?

The gun list found on JW's phone is being shown on Court's big screen, maybe someone here got a screen-shot.
The list has all the Wagners' names on it and beneath the names is a list of guns each of them owns. Even the children's names are on the list. George's name is on the list and there are many guns listed under his name.

and a text message back and forth with BW, I am liking the defense challenging everything, what have they to lose, jury cannot consider defense attys conduct so they should make the state prove everything and only be allowed to use probative not overly prejudicial evidence

All those guns in the great deer hunter list, only the two Remington shotguns were legal for Ohio deer hunting at that time. At least one of the Remington shotguns wasn't suitable for deer hunting, the trap model.

edit: moo - GW4 probably shot all those deer as they grazed on a pile of corn!

Prosecution just proved BW had two phones.
They proved he had 2 phones in May of 2017, not April of 2016. The issue before was he didn't turn the phone over and he said it was destroyed, but he also said he was calling Chris, but no calls came in to Chris's phone after his death from Billy. How did Billy's destroy his phone because he was upset calling his best friend so many times, but there were no calls. If he called from some other phone then why destroy a different phone? His excuse for not having the phone in question was a lie.

Right. I missed the date. Thanks.

Yes! This is interesting because according to Billy he was blowing Chris's phone up. The defense was trying hard to suggest maybe Billy had a different phone you know because Chris Sr had 2 different phones.

Plus, it establishes the fact that Billy was lying, putting him under suspicion and justifying future search warrants.

I will never understand why anybody needs as many guns as the Wagners or Rhodens have

The shooting hobby and gun collecting is huge. Having guns doesn't mean you're out to kill people.

One of my favorite evenings of the week, Wednesday Night At The Range from 7-11pm on Outdoor network. :)

I wish everyone saw that this is a complex crime and the state has to show that this wasn't a rush to judgment against the Wagners. This testimony undercuts the "it's about the drugs" or "it's about cockfighting" or "it's about some boogeyman somewhere." The prosecution has to establish that crimes were committed, the nature of those crimes, the forensics and why the suspects were suspects.
It shows to me that BCI was no investigating the Wagners from day 1. The interview with Billy was nearly 5 months later. So defense trying to say they just focused in on the Wagners and didn't investigate anyone else would be false. BCI in this interview said they wanted to talk to him because they received tips about a fight. He cleared that up and said there wasn't one. But, he continued to ramble. I think most could listen to that one interview and raise an eyebrow at what was said. It shows they followed up on what Billy said and none of the suspects he threw out panned out, but things might have kept pointing right back to the Wagners.

How many cases have we seen the someone else did it theory and LE just picked someone and focused in and didn't check out anything else. This is laying groundwork I think that they didn't do that here and that they went down other paths that all lead back to the Wagners.

Yes, long ago I knew one intimately and it's amazing how some can fly below the radar and just carry on when others are snagged left and right.
