Oh that wasn't one specifically to Chris I don't think though was it? I'm aware of that one, I was thinking there were two different threats.

I thought that was the one that was made against Chris. Chris and his friends surrounded this kid's car 2 weeks ago, beat his car with sticks, and hurled a bunch of racial slurs. So this teen posted that threat on FB in response. I have heard there was also a threat against Chris Sr. But I haven't seen it and don't know what the content of that threat was. Just that someone was mad because he sold them a car that broke down right after they drove it off his property. But I can't find the actual threat.

I saw that on that site too, the one every one was questioning about being gay came on there and admitted it. Just wondering if he was the juv.male victim. So sad if he was b/c in a conservative area like this, you know he got teased or bullied.

On THAT site, it doesn't mean that it was actually the guy being accused. I could go on there and call myself lizzyblueyez but that doesn't make it you posting :) THAT site is often used as a means of cyberbullying among teens in a small town.

I think the only reason they even looked into that was because it was very specific. He said he was going to "go up to Union Hill and wipe out the whole bunch." But the kid was VERY upfront. Immediately went to the police, told them the story, and said he was willing to help any way he could. I don't even think LE was aware of him and the threats. He went to them (at least according to his own story on FB).

And yes, his name was Larry, but he was NOT a cousin/relative as someone else said.

Man, that kid had some terrible timing with that empty threat... huh?

I don't think I've ever heard the word "cartel" come out of Dewine or the Sheriff's mouth or did I miss it? Also, it wouldn't be uncommon in this part of the country for people to be involved in both growing and *advertiser censored* fighting.

He was talking about it today, not sure if he's mentioned it before.

Ohio Attorney General Mike Dewine told WHIO and Dayton Daily News Monday that the possibility of a Mexican drug cartel connection has not been ruled out — investigators are looking at everything.

I had read someone on here post there was a threat against CRsr, however it was only mentioned once, perhaps they means CRjr.

I guess I had the wrong impression- if the FBI takes over, I had always thought that local LE take the back seat . Of course they are there to work on the case , but I always thought that they follow under direction of FBI. The local LE would follow their directives.

Having Ohio BCI call in the FBI and DEA would be a big help in this case. Locals don't have enough funds, expertise and tools to investigate a crime of this nature.

But the governor has been out of state most of the year. He's currently in the headlines running for president and he probably wants to keep this out of the media as much as possible. The GOP is getting ready to hold their national convention in Cleveland, OH in a couple of months. AG DeWine is a former US senator and understands all this pretty well. Most LE would be asking for some help from FBI and/or DEA by now.

If cartel is a possibility no LE officer in his right mind who knows anything about cartels will say anything in my opinion, if that type of operation was suspected he may not can trust his own department 100% never know who is one the inside and motive is either money or fear of their own lives could cause some leaks. I can't think of the name of the couple who were jet skiing at a lake on their honeymoon years ago in Texas and the husband was killed she wasn't I remember when they finally thought they would get answers the investigator came to the home met with the family and assured them he was going to get the answers. Wasn't like a week or so later his head was mailed to the police dept or family I can't remember but either way it's horrific. There was many reporters and journalist a couple years ago that were being killed found disemboweled etc after reporting crime stories and social media posts discussing the cartel. I remember Geraldo went in to a Mexican city for a story on it and I was scared for him. I'm sorry I don't care what oath you made to serve and protect how can a LEO fight this type of crime knowing he can't be protected or his family if faced with a situation like cartel. Too bad homeland security can't step in and remove the dept from its duties and take it over as terrorism. Just in case of this possibility

I hate Nancy Grace and watched her to see the coverage on this. She is all over the death of Prince though.
Yeah I was watching to see if Nancy would cover this case. Then was so disappointed she didn't.

I don't know at this point. I was thinking Frankie was involved in that one.

There is just so much with this, the same names, so many family connections in several ways, it's becoming confusing anytime it starts to seem clear.

Well the one they were talking about is very open and mentioned his husband.

This is strange.
I have to believe that they are either just so overwhelmed with the case, or there's something they're avoiding telling the public about, or having the public ask about.

I still think they don't know anything because there was little or no evidence.

I was wondering if anyone knows of a murder in 2012 in that area a woman and boyfriend was shot.. if so was anyone ever arrested and tried for it? I have just read some pretty heated threats about how it was going to be handled. It's probably old news but just wondering about all these murders that are in the area in the past several years people shot in their homes with no suspects or arrests

If you haven't followed crime cases before you may not know this, but in almost every case, law enforcement almost never shares much information. You'll find overAndover that press conferences yield very little. They do this on purpose to preserve the sanctity of the case. They need to reassure the public as much as possible but not say anything that will tip anyone off.

The goal is the successful apprehension of the suspects and being able to turn a complete investigation over to the DA's office for prosecution. The public can be more of a hindrance than a help, as some people (for instance) watch CSI type shows and then imagine themselves to be secret members of law enforcement and think they're going to solve the case. The public can also be very helpful, especially in missing persons cases when lots of people are needed to get feet on the ground and search, but that's not what this case is about.

Bottomline is a criminal case has to be carefully preserved for eventual prosecution or litigation and information is held very close to the vest by people involved in the case, until such time as there is a trial. This of course is frustrating for case followers, but it's just the way it goes.

So yes, there is information they are not making public. 100% guaranteed. Count on this in every case you follow.

Right they don't say a lot, but they hold pressers. There have been more pressers for Prince than for this.

I have not, no. But is this the one that the R family is rumored to have been responsible for? (Consider this 100% rumor because it comes from that local gossip site!!) People are saying that one or more of the more senior men (Chris Sr., Gary, Kenneth) was responsible for an unsolved murder in the area and that their family was killed as payback. Again -- I have seen NOTHING to suggest that this is actually true. But it is one story that is circulating.

Mods - feel free to delete if this is not ok to post. It is most certainly not fact. Just rumor.

CNN after break will be talking about case

I thought that murder rumor happened just a a few months ago..

How many "no comments" are needed to be heard?

Here's the important thing: this crime appears to be related to the one family AND their various activities probably including their significant amount of pot growing. That means people who are not part of this family, and are not part of this pot growing enterprise, are not at risk. This wasn't a random crime, law enforcement confirmed that. The public needs to understand they are not in danger if they are not part of or associated with this family and don't deal in drugs.

Everything else is just LE doing their job and it takes time, sometimes a lot of time. Crimes aren't solved in 42 minutes like TV shows. There's no point to have a bunch of press conferences when no information is being given.
