This is just pure speculation, on my part, but it could have been a drug-deal set-up gone bad. I don't know what her boyfriend does, but with two girlfriends who use, he is most-likely a user or a dealer (or both).

What if she was set-up, by someone trying to get some dope, without any money? They might have been trying to use Shasta to get to the supplier or make her fork over cash for drugs. Or maybe she was selling/holding?

Her family probably expected her home not long after she left, as it was late to begin with, and with her past, they're probably extra watchful of her comings and goings.

I say all these, just by thought. And with experience as an addict.

I've read on BSH page that the autopsy said there were no injuries, just water in her lungs. If the tox results come back clean, any ideas how she ended up in the river if it's not determined to be a suicide?

Someone on the Bring Shasta Home page said she was scalped? Have absolutely no idea where that idea came from, but I'm real curious to find out the source of the blood in the car.

If she wasn't obviously hurt, maybe she was running from someone, probably whoever was in the car with her (hence the passenger door open) and she felt she had no other choice, but to take a chance in the water? I don't know.

I would have thought there would at least be defense wounds of some kind.

scalp wound or facial wounds bleed badly...........was here allot of blood found?

one lesson for all ladies and young men......................it is so very dangerous traveling alone and being out in the middle of the night!
Just read some of these sad cases on WS
If you do not have to be out stay home!

same here, but I also saw someone post that allot is being deleted as soon as the post shows up.............

Yes a LOT has been deleted but it's still there, top of the page, 15 hours ago by cousin running the page.

Was Shasta found in the same creek as Tameyka, when she passed back in May? http://www.wlwt.com/news/1-of-2-missing-southern-ohio-women-found-dead-in-creek/26224824

According to an earlier article I posted here, it was ruled that Tameyka drowned.
I don't believe so as Tameyka was found in Paint Creek and Shasta was found in Scioto River, but the article is confusing.

Investigators spent Wednesday searching Paint Creek by water and by air looking for clues in the death of Tameka Lynch, of Chillicothe.

Her body was found by kayakers on Saturday, washed up on a sandbar in the creek in southeastern Ross County near Bainbridge.

Paint Creek does run into the Scioto river about six miles north of the bridge where the car was found. That could be considered southeastern Ross county, but Bainbridge isn't located in southeastern Ross County. It's in the southwestern part of Ross County closer to Paint Creek Lake.

Ross County is the pink shaded area.
The black rectangle is where Bainbridge is located.
The small red rectangle represents where Paint Creek meets Scioto River.
The small green rectangle represents the area near the bridge where the car was found.

Interesting. That's near where Rescue 101 is from. It may explain why they were so quick to respond when they learned about Shasta. Especially if the family told them the girls knew each other?

Here is a map showing the location of the gas station she was last seen at and where her car was found.

Picture using maps of the general area where the car was found.
The black box in the upper left corner is the area of the bridge.
I have seen it reported that Shasta's body was recovered a mile and half from the bridge and have seen it reported about a mile.
The second black box southeast of the bridge should be roughly the area where her body was recovered, assuming media reports are accurate and Google maps distances are accurate.

Do you know a precise location for Rescue 101?

https://www.facebook.com/Rescue101SearchRescueTeam/info?tab=overview
According to the map provided, it puts their location on Turkey Ridge Road in South Salem. Is this accurate? If it is, that puts them about 30 miles away and a 50 minute drive to the bridge. Do we know the exact time the car was discovered officially? The times of 7:15 am and 7:30 am are still being reported. If the search team came from the Turkey Ridge Road location, that would mean they would have had to been dispatched from there at the latest 6:25-6:40 am?

I was going by their map. They would've had to be dispatched earlier than that unless they already knew to go directly there IMO.

I think I have figured out where Shasta lived, at least the general vicinity. If I am correct that puts her home about 4 miles and 7 minutes away from the bridge. If her intention was to drive directly home from the gas station, the best route would have her on Rte 35 and it's about a 15 minute drive.

We don't know which way Shasta went when she left the gas station, nor where she was headed. If her intention was to drive to the bridge area directly from the gas station, for whatever reason, these are the three most likely routes.
Route 1.jpg
Route 2.jpg
Route 3.jpg

Thank you for the maps Droopy. What is striking to me about the the area, regardless of which route she may have taken, is how desolate it was. The Scioto State Forest/Park to the west is huge.

Lonely and dark at that hour.

:(
