There is a video interview with a lady official from Richland County discussing the crime scene in the woods behind the burnt out house. She says they have a suspicion of who the dead person is but the body was very decomposed and so they will have to wait for DNA to confirm. It could take months to ID. Several people have contacted Richland County about their missing loved ones but none of the missing person's reports match up with the timing of the death. Towards the end, the reporter asks about the Patsy Hudson murder case. Can any locals give us a summary of what the Patsy Hudson case entails?

Breaking: Shawn Grate has been charged with two counts of murder and one count of kidnapping for the bodies that were found in Ashland Co.
And what about the third body? Maybe not murder?

Given the state of decomposition, and despite the reported "confession", do you think that they have to establish a cause of death to proceed with charges?
And worked maintenance at a holiday inn. Yikes!Since he's been charged over the years for violent acts, his facebook shows he went to "Texes" aka Houston, Texas in 1999. Another place to check.

"He was approached by deputies investigating a report of a suspicious person and took off running. Deputies reported he ran right out of his shoes."-When SG ran from police in June he was wearing no shoes and somehow managed to out-run the officers. High and immune to pain? The bare feet lead me to believe that his life had really spiraled out of his control...I think even the most desperate homeless people try to keep themselves in shoes even if ill-fitting.
Charges would have to be filed through Richland County. This one will take a while, related to the state of decomposition. The good news is he is not going to be leaving Ashland County Jail anytime soon.I wonder if the 3rd murder charge has to be filed through Richland Coutny since that is where the body was found? Anyone know how it works when there are crime scenes in different counties?
I have not seen them mention it in MSM but I do recall seeing phhotos of LE at all the places you mentioned.Maybe "vacant" would have been a better description of the house.
On the day this all came to light (Tues?), I remember the police were processing both houses and the laundromat. I assumed he had stashed the bodies in the house on the right and held the girl alive in the other house. Has anyone heard anything else about the second house next door?
