Hard to find any report where the times make any sense.

http://www.oliverwillis.com/livenews/topic/sarah-m-maynard/

Kody last seen 11/10/2010 (Wednesday!) 04:00 PM at home. (probably school bus driver?)
Sarah last seen 11/10/2010 12:00 AM at home (do they mean PM?)

At this point, Thursday midnight could be early Wednesday morning or Friday.

I am also VERY inquisitive to whom reported that they saw this young woman at the house, at midnight, on either of these days - assuming that MSM isn't butchering this information for hits and views (which would be tragic.)

it makes a tad bit of sense... well not really... but in the abc video they had a sort of timeline.... it said the first check by LE was early evening (hmmm 4pm?) and the second check was 11 pm (12 am???)

-----------

further complamencates it for me ((mis spelling intended...))

I've been lurking. I'm in OH about 2 1/2 hrs away. I'm still can't believe the police didn't force enter the home. They were reported missing.
I wonder why there isn't any thing on Stephanie. Did she have a boyfriend or boss or anyone else she was close to? Who reported Stephanie missing? When was the last time anyone seen her? She surely must of had places to be.
The info is so confusing. Have they said why her Truck was in the garage? It was her truck that was ledt behind right?
Last night I read one Media report and they said they had the last nights switched around.
I'm wonding if the last time seen for Sarah was from a friend maybe she was texting. They surely have checked there phones. What's that called bings or shomething off of the towers? I have teenagers and they don't even go take a shower without there phones.
I'm praying so hard for all of them. There is just no way 4 people go missing from a little town and it's by choice
You all are doing a great job with the updates. Thank You. Luci

wanna pull some more hair:

Sarah M. Maynard
13-year-old white female
5 feet tall; 90 lbs.
Blonde or strawberry blonde hair
Green eyes
Last seen at midnight Thursday at home at 481 King Breach Drive

Kody A. Maynard
11-year-old white male
4 feet, 10 inches tall; 70 lbs.
Brown hair, hazel eyes
Last seen at 4 p.m. Thursday at home at 481 King Breach Drive

Besides the times being all crazy, you've got to wonder who it was who saw them at home at any time on Thursday (or Wednesday, for that matter.)

Surely wasn't The Police. It just makes me so mad they didn't go in. WHY?????????

warning: vent

IMO, most of the major websites are updated by interns (free labor for the employer).

No offense to any interns who read here. :innocent:

As for disinformation on websites, the responsibility lies in the owner of the website. It is a management/training issue.

That isn't really a MSM site, more like a blog with homemade missing posters. The official missing posters that nurse linked to say the children were both last seen at school on 11/10/10 (Wednesday).

Strangely, there are many cases on here where LE was called to do a welfare check and knocked on the door, got no answer and left. I think that must be a normal policy, even though it makes no sense.

A sheriff in Ohio says an unusual amount of blood found in a missing woman's home is believed to be a factor in her disappearance with her two children and a female friend.
Knox County Sheriff David Barber did not elaborate Saturday on the blood found in the home of 32-year-old Tina Herrmann in Howard, about 60 miles north of Columbus. She was reported missing Wednesday, with her 13-year-old daughter, 10-year-old son and 41-year-old friend.
Investigators are searching by air and land and in a lake about a half-mile from the home. Friends and neighbors began their own search at about 7 a.m. at nearby Kenyon College.

This actually happens frequently. In many cases it happens even though a 911 call brought LE to the house. 911 hang up call, LE goes to the house and there is no answer. They figure it's a prank call and leave. There was a case here in Utah several years back where a baby died of starvation in it's crib after mom and dad died in a murder suicide. LE had been at the house knocking but never went in. Two more cases I can think of where it was murder suicide discovered by family breaking in when LE wouldn't enter. One of those was a 911 hang up call.

Do we know if any personal items (purses, keys, bankbooks etc) were in the house?

Knox County Sheriff David Barber said this morning that blood found by investigators in the home of Tina R. Herrmann was "an unusual amount."

"It was not from someone stubbing a toe, cutting a finger or peeling and apple," Barber said at an 11 a.m. press conference. "It's obvious someone was injured in that house."

snip

He said this is still a missing person's case.

"We are asking people to keep a guarded but optimistic attitude about how this case is going to unfold," he said. "We still hope for a positive outcome."

Barber said investigators have gotten some tips and leads they are following up.

As part of the massive search effort, the Ohio Department of Natural Resources has boats on Apple Valley Lake in Apple Valley today but no divers at this time.

There must not be a rule so to say. It must be what the officer want's to do who goes there.
Here locally a few weeks ago our police broke into a mans home for a welfare check because his employees called it in when he didn't show up to work. He was in the house sleeping. He wasn't happy but understand why they did it.
This is the first time it's gotten my attention on any case that the police didn't go in. (RANTING)

I wish there was an answer. I'm going to bet LE has this procedure because of numerous previous lawsuits.
