I'm confused. Is there any information at all that ties Shelton to *advertiser censored* fighting or the Bandidos gang?

BTW, raising chickens (to sell to companies like Tyson or to sell eggs) as a sideline or even as a living is very common in eastern Oklahoma. No one would automatically assume that someone raising chickens was raising gamefowl. There are chicken houses everywhere in the area.

No, not at all STEADFAST. It's just the crossover of cases in the area that appear to NOT be involved in illegal activities, but then turn out to be- and there is a lot of gang activity in the area involving drugs.

Nothing actually ties Shelton to anything of the sort (that I can find anyway), except that his disappearance is similar to others in OK.

This link is where it comes from, and then when you bounce around from there...

You've got that right, Soul!

I did find a court record for Chris;http://www1.odcr.com/detail.php?Case=046-TR 1100001&County=046-

He asks the court for a sooner court date, because he will be out of the country Feb.28.

The part about rasing chickens is interesting. Did he raise them as pets or were they used for *advertiser censored* fighting?

What did Chris do for a living, that he had to leave the country so often?

We need more information!:banghead:

So an ongoing court case.
Is his address being very close to a whittaker street one mocking a case before? Is this his current? I took it from Littles link.

Can someone google map and screen shot his house. I think all googles maps are updated to this year now. I cant do that because my dumb pc issues.

From little726's link, it shows on the court record:

01/27/2011 DEFD. PHONED NEEDED SOONER COURT DATE DUE TO BEING OUT THE COUNTRY ON THE 28 FEB SO SET IT FOR THE 31
OF JAN.

ETA: I realize this may not be the info you were asking about - sorry. I did try to get a streetview of the house, but I can't tell which one is his.

Looks to me like the court case was a traffic citation and was dismissed without even a fine. Am I reading it wrong? Just wondering why that's a big deal or is it just the fact he was going out of the country on the 28th of Feb.?

I couldnt see the link to see to see and had thought the request for the court date was like a motion on a pretrial.

The original citation:
TR- IMPROPER OR NO TAG

Seems like he went to court and showed the proper tag, and all charges were dismissed and fines cancelled.

Authorities in two counties want to know if anyone has seen a man missing since Feb. 15.

Chris Alan Shelton, 36, was last reported seen near Haskell at a friend’s home on Feb. 15. Shelton has not been seen by friends or family since then and was reported missing Feb. 18 by family members.

The article also states he was supposed to spend Feb. 16th with his girlfriend for a belated valentines day. So my question is why wait until the 18th to report him missing? Someone obviously had to know he was missing well before then.

I'm also curious what he was involved in that took him out of the country? To Mexico? Did he take chickens over there and sell them? Can you drive chickens across the border?

The comment RE: Chile below this article are very interesting IMO>

OT: Soul...

I was searching some game fowl sights and came across a member on a blog board from Heavener, OK... I had to turn tail and run! LOL

I just realized I got two cases mixed up. Wayne Anthony Holland and Chris Shelton.
So forget my post from above.
Wayne is the one with the land and ranches and Snap-On.
Chris owns fowl and I guess that's all.

bbm....

reporters often report the time and or date that the family ends up formally allowed by police to file a missing person's report. which would not account for family and/or friends attempting to file a missing person report. which could have been much much earlier than feb 18th.

I'm also wondering if police made them wait the "48 hour" rule before they would officially accept the report.

OK, so I am trying to catch up here.

I am confused. Whats new? Ha?

So does Chris live in Shawnee? I saw the court record that was posted above. But in the news link it is stated "Hall said Shelton lives east of Hitchita." Shawnee is west of Hitchita. Are we sure we got the right guy?

The DOB the court case matches up with this Chris' age (born June 1974) but the Shawnee address IS puzzling. The articles state his truck was found a few miles from his home which makes sense if he lives in Hitchita.

Property Tax Records show that address in Shawnee is owned by an M. Shelton so maybe he lived there at one time? But the ticket was just issued in January, 2011.

Strange I agree!

There are a whole lot more cases with that name and date of birth here. Some not so good! I won't link them in case they are unrelated but most of the counties match up to that area. Many also link back to the Shawnee address.

He tells his GF the chickens are making noise - I'll call you from the road. She doesn't hear from him so then what? Does she call the friend? Does she drive around looking? Does she notify the family?

I could be way off, but something sounds wrong here... between leaving the friends and not reaching home.

I used to live near Hitchita. *advertiser censored* fighting is illegal , but I knew several people from there that would fight them and take them to Mexico for fighting/selling. Really, that is all I know from the whole town of Hitchita (it was about 15 minutes from where I lived and my next door neighbor was from there). My neighbor moved back to raise his chickens closer to Hitchita. There is also a lot of meth activity there. FWIW

Sorry to quote myself but just had a thought.

The chickens are missing, right? Let's say he was harmed (or worse), so the truck is driven somewhere and left, but -- the chickens. Whoever did this cares about those chickens in some way - monetarily or otherwise.

Who would care about the chickens, really? Just trying to think outside the box here: the person who had just sold them to him is one guess. Were they also the last person reported to see him?

ETA: I don't think he disappeared over the chickens - but I think the chickens being taken is obviously important here. MOO

I dont know but I did wonder if the truck was found before it sat for days and the chickens were placed back it in to make it look as if they lived in the truck for an extended amount of time.

I think the chickens are important too.

Oklahoma aint no joke.

From wfgodot's first post of the thread, it says that chickens weren't found:

The chickens were in a Tequila box. Neither the chickens nor the box were in the truck when it was found, Banks said.

If you committed a crime, it seems logical that you don't want to be caught with something of the victim's - especially two chickens. That would stand out, if you don't own chickens, kwim? But it wouldn't stand out if you do own chickens already. Just take 'em home and throw 'em in with the rest...

Or sell them - if they were for fighting and worth more $$$.

But I do think there's more to the story here - and I'm thinking like you are: meth. Or meth $$$. And I think it's close to 'home' - or his friend's home. MOO
