I wonder how far in advance hotel reservations were made. I'd bet it's next to impossible to just walk in the Fairfield during May in Muskogee and the best room is available.

This seems the most probable. JMO

I just don't understand the reluctance to give pertinent information but there seems to be an abundance of personal (imo unnecessary) info out there. Just strikes me as odd. :confused:

Everything about this case is odd. I didn't realise just how odd until yesterday!
 
I knew something was way off when I was doing the mapwork and saw the information that the car was off I35, yet supposedly still at the zigzag trailhead. That's all th way on the other side of Mt. Hood, the highway on the side where zigzag is, is a different highway altogether. I was sitting there asking myself why the H-E-double hockeysticks LE could possibly say it was just off I35, yet at the zigzag trailhead... then saw LE only said "main road" or "main highway" and someone closer to the case decided it was 35.

Really annoyed that I called this nonsense yesterday and then had to spend all day apologizing only to have it turn out I was right, and to hear MTM echoing my sentiments after all. Not that apologizing isn't good for the soul, I guess, but I'd rather not do it only to find out my suspicions were justified. Hrumph! (said with a smile)

You're hte one I was thinking about as I made the casemap and then zoomed out. I was thinking "if someone in the UK saw that this case literally spans THE ENTIRE UNITED STATES they'd realize how impossible this is going to be, narrowing things down when it comes to gas stations etc".... I guess we know he at least came home from NY because Job Corps has a record of him dropping his brother off but if it wasn't for that I'd think he was still in NY like Ian (can't think of his last name, but I'm sure lots of you remember the case, a couple of years ago), and just didn't feel like telling his family. But NYC is on the east coast, OK is in the middle of the country, and OR is on the west coast. He traveled the entire US one way or another by the sounds of it in a matter of days. Really odd.

Yup, it's pretty bemusing as everything in the U.S. is so vast geographically compared to here. :) I can't see us getting any further here without more (and more valid) information. It's so frustrating.

And I think an apology is in order GGE - I think you saw the light a bit sooner than I did, for one! I'm so frustrated. Argh. :banghead: In a way, I'm glad I'm not around for a couple of days. I hope when I'm back we have more news! :)

IT was also a big heads up for me when I anonymously posted on one of teh furry news stories that his newly found fursona name is pulse, and all of a sudden I got email after email notifying me that people were replying to my post, most asking wtf i was talking about and where i got the info. I didn't even read them all, I was already fed up by then. It's kinda like when we had our story right, nobody wanted to reply (maybe they cover for fellow fursonas) but when we got it wrong they were quick to jump all over it. To me that's a clue. It's taken me a while to read through the whole thread but I'm finally caught up. What a curious case this is!

I'm leaning towards him having disappeared himself at the moment but I could equally argue a fairly strong case for foul play. There are just so many strange things to take into account, it's a real puzzler.

Hoping for some more information soon, and fingers crossed for a happy ending.
 
This should show where the zigzag trail is (off I26) on hte left of Mt. Hood, and if you look to the right of Mt. Hood you can see where I35 is, which is where we were told it was before I looked for myself:

I may have it wrong, or someone else might've been wrong when supplying the info. It's hard to tell with this case. I sort of don't think it's me/google maps, though (I relied on google to show me where it was)...

I sure hope so. This guy seems way too nice to NOT worry he's been taken advantage of.

We have a missing person, a car found many states from where it/he went missing, rumors in MSM (I think?) and on FB of a record of large amounts of money being withdrawn from his bank account for quite some time prior to him going missing, and a person who says that he tended to spend a lot of money on them every weekend and spoil them.

Maybe he overspent and couldn't continue keeping this person in the way they were growing accustomed.

Maybe it wasn't him draining his account all along and once it was all gone, he was useless. (NOT ACCUSING ANYONE, JUST QUESTIONING WHERE THE MONEY WENT AND WHY NOTHING ADDS UP)

Who knows. If I was LE I'd have more questions today than I had a week ago, and someone in mind to ask them to.

I'm going to hunt around on social media for awhile and see if I find anything at all. So weird that out of everything on the internet, all that's been found is a Tumblr acct.
 
Ohh... just finally saw the FB for the first time. Now I understand what you guys were talking about yesterday. Val/JJ/the "partner" says he/she won't be back to WS and we were more harm than good, and won't be "spoon feeding" us info anymore, and has been promoted to page admin by the orig. admin, and has requested people just contact him/her for info rather than closer family to help take the burden off them. (I know I'm allowed to paraphrase social media but then not discuss it further, as per a post by a mod last night in a different thread - I think it was Elaina's - so that's what I'm doing for those without a FB or who never had the link before, like me). Also was posted there by Val/JJ that he/she updated NAMUS Tues night for the car info. So that was less than 48 hours ago (so they're saying the car was found 6/3, updated info regarding this was submitted to NAMUS 6/11) ... just paraphrasing as per WS rules.

No he also has a google plus account using Darraby.Collie, but I don't have one so the page looked blank to me. Don't know if it's REALLY blank.

He also commented on a video clip on a random website (it was an atheist website) using the name Darraby Collie, and his avatar was an animated gif of a tiger. But that profile led me nowhere.

Thanks forgot the Google plus. He had only 3 friends or groups or whatever they are. Have one and that's all I could see. Might need to double check though....early and haven't had coffee.
 
forgot to mention, checked NAMUS this morning and it's updated now to reflect the vehicle being found, which it wasn't last night before I went to sleep.

All this obfuscation is what is very strange/odd to me. I wonder what real purpose it serves?

Anybody know what/who was the original of source of information that Darraby was a "furry"?

Has anyone been found on any of the furry sites that actually knew him? I sure haven't seen anything. :confused:
