I have to add that I'm not sure which Monday the video was filmed. It may have been last year or it may be current.

Thanks for the update. How sad is that about her last words. :( :(

Death Penalty phase starts Monday. I hope it takes them even less than 30 minutes to decide that! .

I wrote about this case a lot when I was writing for The Crime Library. It got to me, I'm afraid. Really unsettling. Here are the articles I wrote in April, 2006:

NORMAN, Okla. — A jury recommended the death penalty Friday for a man convicted of luring a 10-year-old girl into his apartment, killing her and mutilating her body.

Jurors deliberated for nearly 8 1/2 hours before recommending that Kevin Underwood, 28, be put to death for killing Jamie Rose Bolin. He was convicted last week of first-degree murder.

From Chico's link:

His mother, Connie Underwood, sobbed quietly after the verdict was announced.

The Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals on Friday upheld the conviction and death sentence of Kevin Ray Underwood, who was found guilty of the gruesome April 2006 murder of 10-year-old Jamie Bolin, of Purcell.
. . . “The evidence of appellant's guilt was overwhelming and essentially uncontested,” the Court of Criminal Appeals said in its 72-page opinion.
