There’s still hope. This article states the weather may push the search out a couple of weeks and there are plans to bring former neighbors to the area to try and jog their memory. Prayers for a successful recovery.

New search announced for bodies of long-missing Oklahoma girls
“Investigators will search a cellar on vacant land in the former town of Picher where a suspect in the disappearance of Ashley Freeman and Lauria Bible lived at the time…”
The location is based on interviews by investigators of Ronnie Busick, a Wichita, Kansas, man who pleaded guilty in August to being an accessory to murder in the case.

Just watched a live update from the reporter, they are still continuing to dig. That was Pennington’s property and his stepdaughter says that they were never allowed to go in the basement.. thinking is further probable cause of the girls being there .

Did Busick ever give info on why the Freemans were killed and Lauria and Ashley kidnapped and killed? Why they were chosen?

According to Busick, he and two others (now deceased) went to the Freeman home to collect on a drug deal. When Danny Freeman either couldn't or wouldn't pay, he and his wife were killed. Lauria & Ashley were home at the time and they were taken to be sexually abused before being killed. They (Lauria & Ashley) were killed to eliminate anyone being able to testify against the three assailants.

Does this ring true to others? If they wanted to collect a debt, wouldn't it be better not to kill the debtor, and maybe hold his daughter for ransom? MOO It's sad that anything can be said about Mr. Freeman. He's not here to defend himself. AMOO

PICHER, Okla. – Authorities are back in Picher, Oklahoma searching for the remains of the Welch, Oklahoma girls. Lauria Bible and Ashley Freeman went missing in 1999.
The FBI, OSBI, Quapaw Marshals and other departments are in two locations today. According to Lorene Bible, the mother of Lauria,
The search today turned up empty again. But it’s two more locations we can mark off the list. It feels like we will dig up all the Picher to find the girls and that’s just not fair. Almost 23 years, nothing has been fair. Even still, so grateful for the agents that show up for us every day after many years of agents who did nothing to help before.
One day soon…….we will never stop searching.
