Three people have been arrested and charged with first-degree murder for the death of a man found burned to death in a field in Logan County in late January.
The Logan County Sheriff's Office and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) arrested 35-year-old Brandy Hanson, 49-year-old Johnny Snow and 24-year-old Angel Munoz on Wednesday in connection to the murder of Shawn Masters.
Hanson claims they were hanging out at Munoz home in southwest Oklahoma City with Masters, when two men arrived and went inside a bedroom with Munoz and closed the door.
Hanson then said the two men came out and started beating Masters and told her to tie Masters' hands behind his back with zip ties. Those court documents state she did, and then says she witnessed the two men and Munoz taking turns beating Masters. But she claimed she knew Masters was still alive, because she could hear him moaning.
That's when Hanson claims Munoz began using several different knives to stab Masters while he was inside the trash can.
Court papers show Brandy Hanson and Angel Munoz were upset at Masters after being arrested for driving a stolen vehicle that Masters reportedly let them borrow.
Munoz became paranoid about Masters and called her boyfriend, Jessie Dalton, who was in prison. He told Munoz he would send someone over to take care of it. That's when Lott and Goodwin arrived and beat Masters.
After they left, Masters was still alive. That's when Munoz and Hanson stabbed Masters to try to kill him.
Investigators with the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation and the Logan County Sheriffs Office have issued a search warrant for phone records for an inmate at McAlester State Penitentiary.
According to a search warrant affidavit the phone belongs to inmate Jessie Dalton, whos serving a life sentence. Investigators believe Dalton used the cellphone to have individuals on the outside beat up Shawn Masters. That attack resulted in the Logan County mans death.
Originally, there were eight people charged and accused of taking some part in the murder. But one has had charges dropped; Jesse James Dalton. He was in prison at the time and was accused of ordering the brutal beating.
Angel Munoz is accused of stabbing Masters, and having friends help her dump the body and then set it on fire. Friday Twila Wise and Angel Munoz pleaded guilty to their part in the crime. Wise received a five-year sentence for Desecrating a Body. And Munoz accepted a life sentence for the Murder and a seven-year sentence for the Desecration Charge. John Worchester also pleaded guilty to being an Accessory to the Murder. He received a five-year sentence.
Johnny Snow waived his right to a preliminary hearing. Now he, Quentin Goodwin, Tyson Lott and Brandy Hanson are all waiting for their trial dates to be set.
