Wednesday, January 24th:
*Trial continues (Day 3) (@ 9am PT) - OR – Dennis W. Day (76) (former original Disney Mouseketeer, Phoenix, missing July 15, 2018, found April 4, 2019, ID’ed Jun 6, 2019) - *Daniel James Burda (36/now 40) arrested & charged (7/5/19) & arraigned (7/17/19) with 2nd degree manslaughter, 2nd degree criminal negligent homicide, 2nd degree abuse of a corpse, 1st degree criminal mistreatment, 7 counts of aggravated identity theft, fraudulent use of credit card & 2nd degree theft. Plead not guilty. $150K Bond. Released on 7/15/20. But wound up back behind bars after he was convicted of 3rd degree robbery in Jackson County & imprisoned at the Columbia River Correctional Institution on Feb. 9, 2021.
Was handyman for Day. Day’s car found 200 miles away on Oregon coast on 7/26/19. Day’s partner Caswell died in Sept., 2019.
Trial began on 1/22/24. (5 days)
Judge Kelly Ravassipour. Prosecutor Deputy DA Michael Cohen. Lead attorneys Michael McClelland Cohen & Christine Kantas Herbert & court appointed Justina E. Lara.

I was only able to listen to the very short article: It didn’t give her name, when or where, but also mentioned that an Alaska man with ties to her has been summoned to testify.

I couldn’t find any other info about her arrest elsewhere. Looking back on the thread, I assume it’s Lori Ann Declusin.

edited to add: I have Burda's trial starting 7/15/24.

The Jackson county case number is as a material witness. The Douglas county case is for a stolen vehicle and unauthorized use of a vehicle in June 2019. Not sure if this is Day’s car or another. Day’s car was impounded in Coos County in July 2018, but she was not arrested then. So they may have decided to arrest her after his body was found.

She has been in Alaska for several years and even escaped from jail there. I wonder if Jackson county knows this. She was still posting on FB in 2023.

Thank you for all those articles @Lilibet - and I do remember her walking away from the jail in Alaska. So maybe she is just a witness to this crime.

Here is what I have for Wanda -

Wanda Diane Garcia (57/now 62) – 6/1/22: Plead guilty. Disposition: Unauthorized use of a vehicle-convicted & theft in the first degree-dismissed. Probation supervised duration 18 months. Failure to appear for warrant.

So - she will be getting off probation in about another 6 months or so.

Unfortunately, I can not access the Oregon court site - that is why I ask @PayrollNerd for help - even if she is not following this case.

Keep reading @c@tw0man. Dennis was found dead in the house months later. Local police dropped the ball. The handyman will be tried for murder. A terrible tragedy.
