Circumstances of Recovery On August 27, 2023 the remains of an unidentified male were discovered in a remote wooded location near Milepost 51 off Highway 42 by Camas Valley, Oregon. The location of the discovery appeared to be a campsite.

On August 27, 2023 the remains of an unidentified male were discovered in a remote wooded location near Milepost 51 off Highway 42 by Camas Valley, Oregon. The location of the discovery appeared to be a developed campsite, and the decedent had been deceased and skeletonized for numerous years.

When they say a 'developed camp site', what do they mean? That it was a formal campground or that this guy was living at that spot off-grid and had developed his own site?

As an aside, everytime I hear about a body being found in WA/OR/NorCal I think of Israel Keyes. Of course there is no evidence that foul play was involved in this case. He could have had a heart attack or decided to end his own life.

The newspaper, American Free Press, founders, and articles seem to create some controversy among the public. You can find out more on the internet. The last archive I see listed on the website is in 2011. I thinking get that version of the paper is relevant - he's carrying it around for a reason.

Given the city locations of possessions, it would appear he traveled the I-5.

I wonder if he was connected with the Oregon Army National Guard based in southern Oregon. There is a station in Coos Bay. One way to get to Coos Bay is via Hwy 42. Maybe he was familiar with that general area of southern Oregon.

My assumption is off the grid. Very common for people to camp on and around BLM land in Oregon, the forests are so thick you can be left to your own devices for a long time. It sounds like this UID had been there for a while.

Yikes! That newspaper is pretty gross. Would not be surprised if the UID was a sovereign citizen type as the pacific northwest attracts people like that.
