If he picked up a traveler and realized he was in trouble, I wonder if he would have taken the restricted road as a way to get attention without using a phone. He may have expected to be stopped by police or at the least alert his company via the gps tracker that something was wrong. I do find it odd that the tracker was within 20 miles of the workplace. His family must be a wreck. I had a friend lose her husband while pregnant and hate to see anyone go through this. Hope he is found safe.

That's a very good point! Taking the restricted road, hoping someone would notice and he'd be stopped by the police.

Thank you for pointing that out...

This is a new two-hour video on this case by Gray Hughes. ( We have been given prior permission from the WS mods to link his videos. )

Though I have not yet had time to complete it, his mapping skills are excellent and have always given me a better understanding of the geography of any case he is presenting...

I love Gray Hughes. His videos on the McStay family murders are phenomenal. I wish I was a small percentage as talented as him.

That river is so close to the road! So easy for the driver to doze off for a second and drift over and be gone. Scary.

Another visual:

It is indeed also heavily wooded and rough terrain. There are many small turnoffs and buildings shrouded by trees where the truck could possibly be hidden.

This is so bizarre. Where are you, young man?
I would think the river would be well checked by now and a semi, unlike a car, would leave very visible tire marks going to the river if it fell in, right?
It's hard to imagine such a big vehicle could remain hidden so long.

I do wonder how deep that river is?

Thank goodness!

Oh thank god. I had a horrible feeling about this one. Love to be wrong!!

Jacob has been found! He's being evaluated at a hospital and first reports are that he slid off the road.
Here's the link to Oregon State Police FB post:

Wow!! This is amazing news!!

I have to wonder, though, where has he been since he was last seen on Tuesday. Reports stating he slid off the road but also that he ‘walked out on his own’... walked out of what? His semi? The river? The wooded area? His life??? If he was well enough to walk away after his mishap, where’s he been at?!?

UPDATE: Jacob Cartwright has been found and is currently being evaluated at the hospital in La Grande. According to Oregon State Police the early report is that he slid off the road and walked out on his own. (04/28/18 11:06 a.m.)

...Jacob Cartwright was headed southeast to a delivery that was due at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 25...

...Cartwright and his truck were last seen on April 24 around 5:30 p.m., near Pendleton...

ETA: I saw the update from JerseyGirl after I posted this. I’m not familiar with the area so I’m sure that’s adding to my confusion!

This poor guy had one heck of an experience ! Lots of info in this article.

Cartwright's boss, Roy Henry of Little Trees Transportation, said Cartwright was driving a truckload of potato chips but the tractor-trailer got stuck after he took the wrong turn in an area with limited cellphone coverage.

The trucker started walking without any food or water just after midnight Wednesday, wading through snow at some points. He didn't stop until Saturday morning when he neared La Grande, where he lives, Henry said. From there, the trucker got a ride from a passing motorist to his home.

Cartwright's wife returned home from meeting with local officials about the search for her husband only to find him in their house.

"He took his cowboy boots off and put on flip flops," Henry said.

Cartwright told his wife "he was hurting real bad and was real cold. So she packed him up and took him to the hospital."
