If this island is isolated it could be the perfect spot for drug smugglers, etc. I don't even want to think about it.

Sauvie Island is known for growing pumpkins, the corn maze, lavender and other garden herbs, birds, u-pick farms, and a few beaches (including a clothing optional beach). I've never, ever, ever heard of drug smuggling on Sauvie Island! I have gone there many times and in addition to cars there are tons of bicyclists (esp. when weather is nice) and have never heard anything suggesting it is unsafe or the site of criminal activities.

I'm not sure what it is about this little guy that has me so wrapped up, but I can barely sleep I'm so wound up about getting him home. I lurk on the site all the time, reading, sleuthing and pondering but I've never been so invested in something I've felt so helpless about. I was very attached to Amber Dubois, but I was sure that a bad guy had taken her. She was a sweetheart excited to go buy her lamb and I was CONVINCED that she'd been abducted as a crime of opportunity from the start... But Kyron, I have NO IDEA! I'm so frustrated and frazzled and Im sorry Im not adding anything of value, but no one in my "real life" follows this kind of news so I have no one else to vent to!

I appreciate all of you so much for your caring and logic and sleuthiness... Any advice on how I can keep from going bonkers over this? I just want Kyron home to go fishing so danged badly!!

Yes, and he spoke directly to Kyron.
He spoke wonderfully, with emotion, and it was beautiful imo.
Kyron's mom cried buckets of tears, and she obviously loves her son
very much.

The dad thanked everyone for their help.

I don't know what else he said even though I watched it twice, and tried to focus on what he said, but I kept paying most of my attention
toward the women behind him.

My only advice is to trust that no matter where Kyron is, God is with him, and he is surrounded by guardian angels.
Whatever he is going through, or has gone through, he has not been alone, he was and is completely surrounded in love.

And try reading the autobiography of Benjamin Franklin on a kindle for pc, from Amazon which you can download for free.

By the time the family approached the press, I already had a theory in mind.... so I had my eyes peeled...

Kyrons Step-dad made me cry and his mom.. I have no words .. the pain she was feeling came through the TV itself.... I am glad Tony is there for her....

It was obvious to me Kaine is going through is worse nightmare....

There''s the Portland Rose Festival. There was a parade on June 5th.

Probably already responded to, but the Rose Festival parade etc is/was actually this weekend (June 11-13), not last. Fleet Week was last week however.

ETA: My bad and my apologies! Also the Starlight stuffs last weekend. I should have known that as an acquaintance was headed down there for the Run and subsequent parade. Portland apparently does love its parades! None of which should have any connection to Kyron's disappearance however.

(bbm) Thank you for saying this. I've been telling myself this repeatedly. At a time when no decent human being is able to get to this precious boy, our great God is. So thankful for that right now. This world will just break your heart sometimes.

Good question--I am not sure. Some of the schools are one level, and the few newer ones we have do have elevators--like Forest Park. I bet they group the special needs kids at schools that can accommodate them. I attended Madison High School in NE Portland, and it was built in the late 50s and had a freight elevator. We had a disproportionate number of students in wheelchairs because of it. They just put them on the freight elevator and it worked fine.

I noticed a w/c ramp in the back of Skyline School.

I went to a concert at a high school in Portland years ago, with my w/c bound adult son.
It was quite the experience.
We had to use a freight elevator and were escorted through the innerds of the school.
A boiler room of some kind.
I had never seen a room like that before, and personally,
I found it to be quite degrading,
like I imagined black people felt having to use the back door.
That's what it reminded me of at the time, how it made me feel.

Not sure if this blog has been posted yet but it's definately worth a read.

The investigators are attempting to personalize this by having the family read a statement/note TO Kyron. They have likely told the family it is possible that Kyron may actually hear what they say, if he is still alive. The investigators want to show some of the emotional pain the family is experiencing because if the perpetrator is feeling guilty- adding to it will help them find him. They are looking for changes in behavior and appearances. They are contacting employers to see who has been absent from work since Kyron disappeared.

Well I am headed to bed. I pray that tommorrow night Kyron is able to sleep in his own bed, but if the worse has happened, we know that this sweet baby is in the loving arms of our heavenly father. Where ever you are Kyron know that you are loved, even by complete strangers and although we may not be able to physically search for you we are doing all we can to find you.
Dear Heavenly father please comfort this sweet child and keep him safe where ever he is, and please direct the searchers to his location so he can be brought home.

Kaine is a Gaelic name. It doesn't have the same connotations for everyone as it might have for some (I, for one, never thought about it; Kyron struck me as far more unusual). It's also a Japanese name, a Hebrew name, and a Hawaiian name. Lots of people have the names Cane/Kane/Cain/Chaim as first or last names.

He is close to his brothers.

He has a cat at Step Mom and Dad's.

He has a dog in Medford at Mom and Step Dad's

Certainty of isolated event.
Seeking video of specific vehicles coming in to area Thursday, leaving Friday
Seeking witnesses re: SM drive to school (was she followed?)
Reason to believe he is alive
Extreme discretion in what is revealed.
Low profile for family.
Early FBI involvement

It makes some sense that (similar to when dealing with terrorists) it may be wise NOT to give them the publicity (glory) they seek. If their goal is to intimidate, LE minimizes that power by giving them no public attention. Every child of every drug-fighting detective would be at risk if this tactic (terror and intimidation) was viewed as "successful."

this is the feel i get for this case as well......i dont know what type of criminal group though......I feel its either ransome or trade of some sort or revenage.......im leaning more towards a trade of some kind....

what i havent seen from LE or The family is any kind of plead to the person or persons who took Kyron.....

what i did see is the father and step father talking straight to Kyron....making me feel as though the person or persons have been in contact in some way with LE or the parents.....( i felt that they know he is still alive)

one reason i think they want people to keep looking in places on their property..... (remember there is a lot of farm land there)....in case Kyron is set free or gets away and is wondering around trying to get help.....

these are a few of my thoughts .....i could ramble on some more

 

[For The Kids]

One thing that is really bugging me here...even people who are being very supportive of the family keep saying that TH was the last person responsible for Kyron.

That is not true. He was at school during school hours. People saw him there as late as 9:00, according to LE.

Even if you want to assume the worst that TH took him, the school is responsible for him once he's there. No one should be able to take a child out of the school without signing him out.

And I'm NOT blaming the school...at least until more details are known. As a teacher and mom I know how crazy it gets and how some parents do just take their kids (or drop kids off) without letting anyone know. But the bottom line is that the school is accountable for where he went.

This is every teacher's worst nightmare, and I truly feel for all of them. But Kyron disappeared on their watch.

Law Enforcements have also said" They suspect he was kidnapped on the Friday" so no we dont know 100% he was seen at 9 am especially if its a child that claimed he saw Kyron at 9 AM

Every statement I've seen from LE states that he was last seen at 9AM. They will not confirm by whom.
