Jones has no permanent address, but police say she was staying at a home in Bend. Police say all the other residents have been accounted for.

I've been trying to find out more about Bobbie, but have been unsuccessful because she seems to have moved around often. The most leverage in my mind is from what commenters have posted:

One of the commenters who goes by Mark Bluhm, wrote:
"I know Bobbie and the neighbor in the unit next door. Infact, I have grown up with Bobbie's family and this makes me sick to my stomache. I am praying for all the relatives and all her family.. This is disgusting."

Mark Bluhm is a 22-year old who's lived in Beaverton, Crooked River Ranch (area code 97760, near Terrebonne), and Bend, but seems to have spent the most time in Crooked River Ranch, though he did attend Redmond High from 2002-2004 and has several friends from Sweet Home, a small town near Corvallis. He goes by the username "muddybuddy" on several sites, including Twitter, Myspace and eBay.

Another commenter, "Butterfly25," posted:
"Hey, this is one of bobbies friends....Do you know more details than what has been said here? I know Mike as well. I keep hearing different things about this story and was wondering if you could straighten things out for us.....Also, If there is anything My family and I can do (Dest is my sister you may have met her before) We so would love to help."

I have not had any success finding more about the poster (presumably "her"), but Dest could only be short for Destiny afaik.

Regarding the search warrants, one commenter, David Merrick, posted more info on the properties:

"The home at 17483 Egret Dr. that they got a search warrant for was listed for sale on July 22 by Jennifer Wilson, a broker at Focus Realty. The house was previously sold in 2006, the year it was built.

As for the address of the crime scene, it was also sold in 2006 (in January), presumably also the year it was built. David Mitchell and Randy Schwerbel are listed as having been residents in unit 2. Annalysa Southworth was living in unit 1 in May 2009."

UPDATE 08/07/2010 Bend

The family of Roberta Marie "Bobbie" Jones is holding out hope she is alive. She is the mother of two teen boys. KOHD briefly spoke with her mother and step-brother on the phone, this is a painful time for them and are again hoping for the best outcome.

Wait. She is 28 and the mother of two teens. She is a young mother. I hope she's okay, her boys need their mama.
And tharticle in the link below says "Falls river AREA" and I think the link I posted above said "in the Falls River" - maybe I read one of them wrong.

In the photo of Bobbie decorating a birthday cake with a little boy, the calendar says 2002 behind her and the child looks to be 6-7. There look to be 8 candles on the cake. If that is her son, he'd be around 14-15 now. She would have been an extremely young mom.

We will have the autopsy results as soon as they become available. Police say they do not believe the public is in danger as the person of interest in this case is already in custody on an unrelated charge.

I just posted about Bobbie's murder and the arrest of Michael Sain on the Heather Thompson thread. She was a 39 year old woman living in Green, OR (near Roseburg). She was a psychic. I really wonder if there might be some connection as both women died on the same day. I found two MS pages for Sain:

http://www.myspace.com/421168749 (Note that there are many photos of a young woman named "A" here. She's his first friend and if you look at her page, I think I spot Bobbie in the slide show.)

http://www.myspace.com/388179642 (Can anyone identify the tattoo on Sain's abdomen?)

I found this explanation of a Capricorn tattoo but Sain states that his sign is Cancer:

http://www.freepsychicreadingss.com/2010/09/capricorn-symbol-tattoo.html

The words, "go" and "home" are also visible. It's interesting that Sain posted for the last time on Aug. 2nd and said "limited time". Bobbie died on Aug. 4th or 5th.

Has anyone been able to determine what Bobbie did for employment? I noticed in the photo posted above that she has a computer and a web-cam. She had no permanent address nor place of employment listed.

I'm wondering what Sain's connection to her was. Was he the father of her teens? He states that he's a "proud parent". But, he's only 30 and thus would have also been very young to be a father of teens, just as Bobbie was. Or was Bobbie a relative or friend of Sain's friend, "A"?

So many questions and very few answers.

Family Of Slain Woman Mourns, Remembers
Bobbie Jones' Family Now Focuses On Her Two Sons

"....It's going to be terribly hard to go on without her," her mother, DH said. She was surrounded by her other daughters, sisters and cousins.

One of 10 children from a blended family, Bobbie was born in Lebanon, but had lived on and off in Bend and the surrounding areas since she was a small child..."

and

".....she always put her friends and family first. "She's just a friend to everyone," Headrick said. "She had so many friends, but she's so big-hearted that she thought she could help everybody."

The sentence I bolded is interesting as that is exactly what Heather's family said. The media was a bit off on the fact that the sons are teens. One is 10 and one is 13. Another statement that is identical to Heather's story:

"....Jones' mother, however, had an uneasy feeling when her daughter didn't check in with her like she normally did each night...."

Heather talked to her father in California each night. It's interesting that the word, "fear" comes up more than once. Was Bobbie engaged in something dangerous, had she been threatened? Why would her children now feel fear? Note that there's also several comments about Bobbie's necklaces. Heather also wore a special necklace, which was not found, according to her family.

Bless those little boys. May their extended family be a solace to them.

Here's Bobbie's MS page:

Lots of photos.

Looks like she had friends looking for her a full month before she went missing. She must have moved around a lot. There's also a comment about a new man in her life. She states that she's "self-employed".

Just noticed this:

http://www.ktvz.com/news/24544407/detail.html

"....Jones’ body was found about 1 ½ miles east of the Sunriver cutoff near Mt. Bachelor, about 50 feet off a dusty spur road. Investigators believe the body was brought up a short, bushwacked trail and placed in a clearing.

A security guard for the Mt. Bachelor Ski Resort found the remains around 7:25 p.m. Saturday, on Spur Road 816 off Forest Road 45, Gregory said Sunday night.

Bend police and Deschutes County sheriff’s detectives responded to the location Saturday night --- and on Sunday, detectives and the FBI crime lab processed the scene where the body was found, [Lt. Ben] Gregory said...."

and

"....The FBI and Oregon State Police also have been involved in the case.."

more at link

What would cause the FBI to get involved in this case? Am I missing something? It doesn't seem that there was a transfer of the body over state lines. Would any of the other details released precipitate involvement by the FBI? Possibly kidnapping?

I don't see this posted. It's more info on Michael Sain, the man arrested for Bobbie's murder:

Extensive Criminal Background of Murder Suspect

08/12/2010

"One week since 28 year old Bobbie Jones was reported missing and then found dead, 30-year-old Michael Shawn Sain Sr. has been charged in her death. "This is a horrific crime, nobody wants to hear about their child or loved one that's been murdered," said Bend Police Lieutenant Ben Gregory.

An autopsy showed Jones had been shot multiple times. Police wouldn't comment on other injuries or when she was killed. Foul play was suspected when she went missing Thursday, August 5, 2010. On Saturday her body was found in a wooded area near Mt. Bachelor. "With the Mt. Bachelor security officer finding Bobbie as soon as he did, was a tremendous amount of help for us, the rest of it was hard work..."

and

"....He's no stranger to police, his criminal background dates back to 1998. He's served time in prison and Deschutes County jail on various charges including Unlawful Use of a Weapon- Firearm, Menacing, Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle, ID Theft, drug charges and many parole violations. In one court document relating to a parole violation, a parole officer writes, "Michael Sain has an extensive criminal record and willingly admits his struggles with remaining clean and sober. To his credit, Sain has proven to be brutally honest in admitting his struggles and violating behavior. Sain has made no attempts to hide his behavior when confronted....."

I'd earlier found an appeals court decision relating to Sain. This article explains what that was all about. He's been known to law enforcement since he was 18. No doubt, the juvenile court knew him well before he became an adult.

I believe that Sain's tattoo says "Go Big or Go Home". And if you look at this MS page:

http://www.myspace.com/421168749

You'll note that a friend wrote him a personal message on August 19th that seems to explain the death. According to this person, Bobbie was Sain's girlfriend. Very very sad.

Sain Sentenced For 'Ultimate Cowardly Act'
Murder Victim 'Bobbie' Jones' Family Speaks in Court

December 22, 2010

"Bend, Ore. ~ Two days after reaching a plea deal with prosecutors, and with the victim's family looking on, Michael Sain was sentenced to life in prison Wednesday in the shooting death of Roberta 'Bobbie' Jones last August, with more than 36 years before any possibility of parole.

On Monday, after hours spent in closed-door plea negotiations, Sain. 30, pleaded guilty to murder and other charges in the Aug. 5 fatal shooting of the Bend mother of two, whose body was found dumped in the woods near Mt. Bachelor, west of Bend...."

and

"....After a letter from Jones' two sons was read to him, Sain offered his only words to her family.

"Only since nobody else will say it, I committed the ultimate cowardly act," Sain said. "And I want to apologize for it."

The deal was reached "after lengthy discussions with his defense attorneys, the state prosecutors and relatives and victims of this crime," [District Attorney, Mike] Dugan said Monday. The murder conviction carries a mandatory life sentence, but under state law and Ballot Measure 11, he's still eligible for parole, many years from now...."
