I just heard on the news that the ex boyfriend has been charged and arrested for the murder of Tammy Borda. It was also reported that he was charged with abuse of a corpse and evidence tampering. No other details have been released. Here is an updated link:

It sounds like he took her somewhere. Maybe that's why so much of the street was sealed.

I am so sad for Tammy and all her loved ones. This seemed bound to be the outcome but it is just so senseless and so sad. Why couldn't she just have been left alone to live her life? She seemed to spread so much warmth and kindness.

Rest in peace, sweet Tammy.
 
Another missing lady from Eugene, Oregon has just been located deceased. Her ex- boyfriend's body has been found too.

She didn't have a thread here so I made her one. Her name is Jacqueline Marroquin.

It's just an endless cyle. :(
 
I noticed a mistake earlier - I said it was Tammy's sister who said she couldn't walk far. It was her daughter, Markie.

I just wanted to say she seems to have done everything she can to find her missing mom as quickly as possible, and the way she spoke in this article about Tammy looking forward to the baby's first Christmas is so heartbreaking. Tammy lived with her daughter, and there is a toddler grandchild too - this will be so, so hard for her.

I hope there is some comfort for those grandchildren one day, that everyone stepped up for their grandma and told the world what a sweet, generous, kind and loving person she was. That is a legacy to be proud of.

My thoughts are with Tammy's loved ones for this first Christmas without her.

Poor woman. She got away from him unscathed only to end up murdered on a visit. As she was disabled I doubt she would have been able to fight back. I am intrigued by the charge of abuse of a corpse. I have seen it a number of times now. It conjured up some very disturbing thoughts but I wonder if it just refers to hiding the corpse. Can anyone help me out with the definition? Thanks in advance.

Very loosely it is defined as "treating a human corpse in a way that would outrage reasonable community sensibilities" (taken from yahoo answers, you can find similar definitions online). Basically ... well, just anything, from sexual abuse to dismembering it, to treating it disrespectfully, to simply hiding the body. As long as LE doesn't say what he did we won't know. Hopefully he just hid the body and didn't do anything more with it. Poor woman! :( RIP Tammy!

I wonder if he bothered her when she was living away. It makes it even odder that she would go there. He may have been harboring such anger that he lured her back there. Such evil.

I have mostly kept contact with my ex bf's in my life. I guess she had a big heart and forgave him for his anger outbursts. She might have believed that by breaking up and moving away she was out of his danger zone. Domestic violence usually happens when people live together. He must have harbored a much deeper anger/resentment towards her than she realized. I feel so sorry!

I feel sorry too. I had an emotional abuser that I got away from. But then I kept hoping to see change and for him to get help. I checked in with him on holidays. This poor woman had such a sweet face and was loved by many.
 
I can't link here but on a fundraising site set up to help Tammy's daughter pay for funeral expenses, there are the most heartbreaking, beautiful pictures of Tammy with her grandbaby.

With his girlfriend’s body hidden in the kitchen, murder suspect David Bowen twice let Cottage Grove police officers walk through his home last year while they were investigating the woman’s mysterious disappearance, several officers testified today during Bowen’s trial in Lane County Circuit Court.

Bitterly cold outdoor and cold outdoor temperatures coupled with the home’s exceedingly cluttered state apparently prevented the officers from detecting Tammy Borda’s body, which Bowen allegedly hid beneath items piled high on his kitchen floor after he shot her on the night of Dec. 2, 2013...

Bowen offered his confession after police conducted a thorough search of the home and found a large amount of blood on his kitchen floor on Dec. 17, 2013 — 15 days after he said Borda had been shot. By that time, Bowen had already removed Borda’s body from his kitchen and dragged it behind his car to a forested location where police later recovered the corpse.
