I found a different picture of the water tower in relation to the stage and the rooftop TC shot from. You can see the legs of the tower behind the #3 photo. It appears that it is behind the stage which might not have given him a shot. The article also shows the roof, which was supposed to be unsafe. There are prominent ridges to the metal which wouldn't have been a safety hazard for the SS.

This article has great video of the scence as law enforcement/SS prepared to escort Trump from the stage. IMO, it took a long time! There were more LE protecting the path as the vehicle drove away than there were surrounding him as he left the stage.
I believe the SS became complacent and didn't coordinate with their counterparts as they should have. With the failures, is it assumed a shooting could have happened at any previous or later events? The SS has resigned. Who was the lead agent, on the ground, in charge at this event? Has anyone heard from him/her? They should be answering questions as well. They were there!

Gab CEO Andrew Torba said he learned Wednesday that Thomas Matthew Crooks “may have had an account on our platform” after getting “an emergency disclosure request from a law enforcement agency.”

The account @epicmicrowave — which the CEO stressed he has been “unable to confirm” was definitely Crooks’ — “posted on the site nine (9) times total,” Torba tweeted just 30 minutes after getting the law enforcement request.

It has been 43 years since a president was shot or shot at while in public.
In those 43 years, we have had a skyrocketing of mass shooting/active shooter events.
Maybe SS didn't put 2&2 together?

Maybe they were looking for other types of threats?

But in response to another question, I don't believe that was the reason that his father sold him the gun.
Firearms are very expensive.
Father owned quite a few.
I wouldn't be surprised if he sold it to him cheap.
Kinda like when parents sell their cars to their kids.
His dad probably wanted him to earn some money for the gun rather than just give away.

Not only did he survive, he went on to give a speech before losing so much blood internally he became faint. Love him or hate him, Teddy was the real deal.

Shooter John Schrank was immediately disarmed and captured; he might have been lynched had Roosevelt not shouted for Schrank to remain unharmed. Roosevelt assured the crowd that he was alright, then instructed the police to take charge of Schrank and ensure he was not harmed.

It sounds like a young man who was conservative but perhaps more concerned about covid protocols than what he saw among Republicans. (The shooter wore a mask after masks were no longer mandated, for example.) Many people have a mix of leanings, depending on the issue, so that is not particularly unusual.

I still don't see a political motive to the shooting, but, rather, a high-profile shooting. Maybe we'll learn more that will confirm one way or the other.

I wonder if this is really him? It seems the site owner has an agenda.
I would prefer a more reliable source, such as LE to confirm it was actually him.

He would have been only 17, still in high school and look what he wrote? His friends paint a somewhat different picture, but you never know. This seems pretty intense for a 17 year old. All posted on Feb 3 2021 on an alt-right site. However, he did join on inauguration day? His first post consists only of tags. Was he trolling them? Because it paints a complex picture if true: He's a troll with fairly intense opinions for a 17 yo. His opinions are not extreme. They just see like someone older who spends alot of time reading political stuff online.

And why is Crooks user name blacked out and the others aren't?
