This is starting to remind me so much of the Toni Sharpless case. Out partying in Center City, went back to a house party, history of mental illness, drives off alone in the early morning hours after an argument, Toni & her car vanish into thin air. It was also speculated in that case Toni may have driven the wrong way into Camden after her license plate was picked up on a license plate reader though the car was never recovered. This is a major US city/highway/expressway. There should be additional surveillance footage. Her car didn’t disappear after turning off Summer and onto Vine. Someone should at least know which direction she headed in by now. Something isn’t right. So sorry this is happening to you Casey.

So her boyfriend headed to work at 6 am and knew she wasn’t home two hours later and thought something wasn’t right? Who works a 2 hour shift?
Police are asking for no public search? I suspect there is a reason for that.

Can somebody make some kind of map based on the info we know? I did some google map searches, but I don't seem to get the right info.
I am not familiar with the area but this is what I'm seeing on Google maps.

Tango Karoake to 12th and Vine
Tango to Vine Street & North 12th Street - walking, .3 miles / 7 min
Tango to Vine Street & North 12th Street - driving, .5 miles / 3 min

Vine Street & North 12th St to Feasterville PA - driving, 20 miles / 30 min

Vine Street & North 12th St to Southampton, PA - driving, 24.4 miles / 37 min

I don’t know much about searches on the LE side. Why are they NOT allowing searches? Is it as simple as they don’t want well-meaning searchers getting injured? I know we’re starting a heat wave, but that can’t be the only reason, right?

Outside immediate 12th & Vine area, assuming she went 95N: all along the detours to 95N, maybe along Roosevelt Blvd (but so many cameras there IMO). If she didn’t…Fairmont Park, maybe all the warehouses en route to Walt Whitman, Camden?

Has it been said that SHE was last seen that morning, or just her car? Where did she park? Those garages & lots can be iffy IMO.

Possible they think there's foul play/crime involved and they don't want well-meaning members of the public to accidentally destroy or degrade evidence? Obviously major JMO and speculative.

Temple student missing since Saturday – The Temple News (temple-news.com)
[...]

While Temple Police do not have primary jurisdiction over the case, detectives have assisted in checking if there are any connections to Main Campus, wrote Charles Leone, director of Campus Safety Services, in an email to The Temple News. The detectives have not found any connections and will continue to offer assistance.

[...]

There have been reported sightings, although Johnston’s family and friends have not found her upon arriving at these reported locations, FOX29 reported.

Standard Cocktails run $10 to $12 at Tango. The girls probably had a few appetizers as well. $25 including a tip won't get you far. We'll see if Casey paid with a card. If she didn't I'd think she had way more cash the start of the night.

My thought was LE asked the family not to continue search was for their safety. Two places floating around the net where there were sightings aren't the safest. Plus there's so many con, flimflammers they may get swayed in their desperation.

@Shamrock1 the Boulevard can you imagine? Cameras out the wazoo. They'd at least have a blow by blow of the car. Then send a speeding ticket.

Hoping they find Casey today.

That would mean the evidence is located off the beaten path IMO :(. Not where she was last seen. Abandoned buildings, sections of Fairmount Park, etc. Is my thinking incorrect?

Maybe it could also mean LE thinks that she’s in a terrible, unmedicated state and will flee if she hears searchers (strangers) calling her name? That doesn’t make much sense, though. I don’t know.

The Fox29 article posted by PommyMommy stated there have been reported sightings. No details I can find. Is it her or just the car? I wonder if any of them are clustered anywhere? The print skirt, tube top, tattoos - she has to stand out, right?

I wish there was some concrete way for public to help. Our family does a lot of hiking.

That made me giggle about the Blvd :).

  • They have Casey on camera getting into her car safely and driving off alone.
  • She turned onto Vine from 13th Street, toward 95.
They believe they have traffic cam of her at the entrance to 95 but do not know which way she went.

Any speculation about the boyfriend is moot, based on the timeline of her getting in the car and him going to work at 6am doesn’t add up. UNLESS she did make it home and something happened between them.

I’m a little older but feel super relatable to Cassie. I’m praying she is found safe very soon but I fear her and her car are in water somewhere.

Little older? What 30? JayLee I am just kidding. At 61 with a 30 something city living daughter I hear you.

Please keep safe. You are all our future.

If you care to expand that's good too. Only places I've been out to are in Fishtown. Grandma of JB's I feel like. Murph's I've been taking out. Fishtown Tav got a good happy hour. Still you need plenty of loot everywhere to eat and drink.

She had $25 in cash and her cards. Cash was most likely just for cover charges.

Just some thoughts:

The amount of crime going on in the city right now makes me think foul play. She could’ve been taken getting into her car or carjacked.

If she made it to 95 North and was exiting after the 295E split around Bristol, it’s very possible she ended up in jersey. To get to feasterville she could’ve taken woodhaven, street rd, route 1 to 213 there’s so many possibilities so accidentally going into jersey on the “new 95” is a possibility. Although the police would have her going over that bridge.

if she purposely drove into water, the major flooding we’ve had recently would be a factor in locating her. There’s no way she accidentally drove into water IMO unless she went towards the Schuylkill or Kelly drive which is wayyyyyyyyy out of the way. Not sure where she could even come close to entering water on Delaware side before neshaminy state park.

Praying for a safe return for this beautiful young lady. Maybe she’s having an episode of some sort and just “going through it” right now, somewhere unknown. Even though I’ve gone through all these negative scenarios trying to place her, I’m REALLY hoping for the best.

On the 295/95 split - if she commuted from Temple to Feasterville a lot, she’d probably know it quite well? The split is around 2yrs old, right? Easy to veer off into NJ, though, especially if tired and maybe a little rattled from the tiff with her friend. ETA - I drove up 95N in my head just now, and I do think it’s easier to land in NJ than I first thought.

I agree that it’s HARD to get into water. To my recollection, the last person was Shane Montgomery in 2014 - who was inebriated and on foot along the Schuylkill. Jury: Manayunk bar must pay $525K, but Shane Montgomery also culpable in his own drowning
