So, these two men are wanted by LE if he was hindering prosecution or apprehension. They may be running from the police???

13 year age diff - kinda unique no??

No we have some younger guys that like to hang around. I'm 37 and they are 19-20. We do cool stuff that they like. Also with social media and groups I think the age gap isn't a big deal. I trip when I think about it though. I have older friends that are in their mid 40's-60's because of my hobby that's how we meet all different people.

Reading that dude Landon's FB there are 3 profiles BTW, but it seems by the posts from yesterday that there are more players, and that people are pressing him to speak on what happened.

It's been my experience that they don't say things like that just off the cuff. They have "reason to believe." So sad. PA is getting hit with all these big high profile cases lately.

I have to agree with you, especially with this being the only new information released in the update from the DA. I suspect LE has good "reason to believe," as well. I also suspect that this update is an attempt to convey the magnitude of the situation to those who are uninvolved but may have a small piece of first-hand information or who have heard pertinent information through the rumor mill over the last four months. From the little we know about this case, I have this nagging suspicion that potential tipsters are possibly people who've had their own run-ins with the law and may be leery of reaching out to law enforcement.

I'm thinking that the DA's statements in the WTAJ article are trying to pull at the heartstrings of these people by addressing the pain being felt by the two families and confirming that something sinister may have happened. Let's hope that the targeted audience is able to put aside any concerns they may have about speaking to police and provide any and all information that might bring closure to these two hurting families.

Here's the DA's statements I am referring to:

Because of that, and without new witnesses coming forward, Callihan worries a months-long investigation could continue for weeks and months to come, causing more pain for the families.

"I can't imagine the anxiety you would have," Callihan said. "The wondering. The not knowing what happened to your loved one."

Remains found (UID): http://www.tribdem.com/news/human-r...cle_34c7f3ee-a628-11e7-bf7d-e79d861fd002.html

The remains were discovered Friday afternoon by some hunters who were checking on their tree stands, according to Adamczyk. They reported their discovery to state police, who responded and secured the scene.

The area where the remains were found is not far from the location where police found a vehicle in March linked to the disappearance of two men.

Details in missing persons case disclosed during preliminary hearing
Damian Michael Staniszewski, 19, of Duncansville, and James Edward Smith, 32, of Portage, were last seen March 26 near Smith’s Prospect Street residence in Portage. They were reported missing by their respective families on March 28 and were reported as last being seen around 2 p.m.

The same day the men were reported missing, Conemaugh Township police located a vehicle known to be operated by Staniszewski along Route 985, also known as Somerset Pike, in Somerset County.

What the heck happened here? Were they getting ready to testify against someone or something?

If it's not their remains, that's one heck of a coincidence.

Central Pennsylvania

PA is so tight lipped about any missing persons cases that it’s frustrating! I was trying to find the outcome of LR being held over for trial but all I could find were articles about him being held for trial in May.

Hoping, for the families, that this is them.

“‘Hunters find 2 bodies in woods; homicide case may be linked to missing persons investigation’

State police in Somerset County are investigating the deaths as a homicide, with a possible connection to the missing persons case involving Damian Staniszewski and James Smith.

CONEMAUGH TOWNSHIP, Pa. —
Two people were found dead by hunters in what's being considered a homicide case with a possible connection to two known missing persons, state police in Somerset County said Monday.
...
‘We are also working with the Cambria County District Attorney's Office due to the possibility of a connection to the ongoing missing persons investigation involving Damian Michael Staniszewski and James Edward Smith,’ police said in a written statement.” (BBM)

“‘WATCH VIDEO | Somerset DA: Bodies found were homicide victims; no identities yet’

SOMERSET – The two sets of human remains found Friday along Ligonier Pike in Conemaugh Township, Somerset County, near the Menoher Swim Club were those of homicide victims, according to the Pennsylvania State Police.

But investigators still need more time to confirm their identities. Not even the gender of the corpses have been determined yet by Mercyhurst University forensic scientists.
...
‘We are looking into the possibility that these two individuals who were discovered on Friday could be Mr. Smith – Mr. James Smith – and Mr. Damian Staniszewski, who were reported missing in March of this year,’ Greenfield said. “However that has not been confirmed. I would like to stress that that has not been confirmed.’
...
Landon D. Reighard, 33, a homeless man, was charged with hindering apprehension or prosecution in the case of the missing men. There are at least two other persons of interest.” (BBM)
