This is one I never heard about and I live relatively close to Lake Winola. Of course his gun tattoo makes you wonder as well as his nickname. It says he allegedly took a cab from Lake Winola to Scranton. His friend would have to be a real jerk or not an actual friend to make him pay that much for a cab. Not many cab companies around there. They would remember or have a log or something. Sounds like he never left Lake Winola. Drug dealing? Accidental overdose? The guy was kind of small. I always thought that Lake was pretty quiet but some friends of mine who are in recovery were telling me a lot of stories.

The population back then was only 400 to 500 people. That zip code only has about 150 houses. Wonder how many then were year round residents. Would seasonals be there in April? Looks like there may have been a few apartments. What cab companies existed back then that would pick someone up from there and take them to Scranton?

Not to start a conspiracy theory but the Rodham Clintons had a cottage there for many years - not sure if they still had it when this happened or if they still have it at all.

I just read a different article where the police make it sound like he got a ride with someone not a cab and then never arrived at the Martz terminal. Also one article calls him caucasian and another hispanic. There seems to have been little to no press coverage of this at least in newspapers.

I took a ride to Lake Winola the other day. Several things struck me. The first is how all the cottages on the lake are figuratively speaking practically stacked on top of oneanother. The feel driving around the somewhat small lake with the cottages and the businesses on the loop road is congested. Still that area is quaint and I can see why people would enjoy living or vacationing on the lake. The second thing is that beyond this immediate area I saw what I took as a lot of signs of poverty or at least a low income area. David's friend he was visiting may not have actually lived on or even immediately adjacent to the lake. Sort of like in Los Angeles people use the term Beverly Hills adjacent.

I can't find out anything about DC except for the above clipping from the special high school he went to in Manhattan. Special means the program was for students with any one of a hundred different obstacles to graduating.
