Police and K-9 dogs searched Modern Landfill in Windsor and Lower Windsor townships on Wednesday.

"We figured we might as well go through there with the dogs and see if we could come up with something," Chitwood said.

Police also plan to search William H. Kain County Park, he said.

"We are now coming to a close (on searching)," Chitwood told The York Dispatch. "Probably by Friday we'll shut it down ... if we haven't found the baby by then."

The search in York yesterday produced eight computers, three cellphones, an address book, documents, a stain on a wall, a stained towel and a pair of black shoes. In an area about 15 miles away from York, along Route 30 in the area of Columbia, Lancaster County, police said search dogs led them to a pillowcase that Gaal identified as belonging to Rushdi.

Police analyzing more evidence in missing baby case

New court documents in the search for a missing baby indicate that police found more than a child's safety seat and a shovel when they searched the car Ummad Rushdi was driving after he allegedly kidnapped his girlfriend's son, 7-month-old Hamza Ali.

In the trunk, the documents reveal police found an opened box of vinyl disposable gloves with a brownish stain, a gray plastic bag containing a black children's shirt, and a gray sweatshirt with brown marks.

Numerous scent pads had been placed on the child safety seat in the trunk, on the driver's seat, and on the steering wheel and controls, according to the documents.

(Updated at 4:45 p.m.) UPPER DARBY — Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood at a press conference Tuesday called Ummad Rushdi a “barbarian” for the murder of his girlfriend’s 7-month-old son.

Rushdi, 30, of Windsor Township, Pa., who previously had been charged with kidnapping Ali following the infant’s disappearance in early August, was arraigned Tuesday on charges of first-, second- and third-degree murder and related offenses.
