Then Maria Snyder sentencing hearing on 7/24/23.

Did I miss something - Marie Snyder was sentenced on Thursday, 6/15 per this article. I had her down for 7/24/23 as sentencing date.

WILLIAMSPORT – A Lycoming County mother for the second time has admitted she and her then girlfriend intentionally starved to death her two young daughters.

Before Marie Sue Snyder, 34, could be sentenced Thursday in county court to two life sentences, she had to plead guilty to two first-degree murder counts.


Maybe they (court) changed it as Snyder was supposed to testify at Echo's trial - but she eventually plead guilty & sentenced.

I have Michele Butlers sentencing on 6/23/23 & still Ray holding out but than he does have a plea hearing on 7/6/23 - so this case is almost over....

@Niner, the docket sheet does show a 6/15 sentencing date - no idea when it was entered. The 7/24 date shows "moved," and I don't remember seeing the 7/31 date before which also shows "moved."

In any case, I'm glad she's been put away.

Bond denied (11/9/21), reason: flight risk & danger to society. Bond changed (12/20/22) to $95K with intensive supervised bail & was released.
Plead guilty on 10/4/22. Sentencing date 12/5/22 was changed to 1/6/23 to 6/23/23.

12/5/22 Update: Sentencing was continued. Butler filed motion for bail modification. Hearing set for 12/20/22 & sentencing was continued on 1/6/23.
12/20/22 Update: County Judge Nancy L. Butts on Tuesday approved the defense request for Michele L. Butler, who has been in prison more than a year on charges that include third-degree murder. The judge set bail at $95K but said Butler would not have to post it if approved for intensive supervised bail, a condition of which would be daily reporting. DA Ryan C. Gardner said he did not oppose Butler’s potential release because she has been cooperating & plans to plead guilty. If she is released, she may not have contact with any of the defendants including her husband Ronald. She will need to undergo mental health behavior drug & alcohol assessments, the judge ordered. Next sentencing hearing on 1/6/23 @ 3:30pm.
1/6/23 Update: Sentencing has been rescheduled on 6/23/23.
*Marie Sue Snyder (27 @ time of first crime/32/now 34) “mom” – Fraud: Plead guilty on 10/31/22. Murder: Plead guilty on 10/31/22 & will be sentenced after she testifies at Echo Butler’s trial. Echo plead guilty & was sentenced. Sentencing hearing on 6/15/23 to 2 life sentences.
*Echo Lane Butler (21 @ time of first crime/26/now 27) – Plead guilty on 1/19/23 & sentenced (1/19/23) to 2 consecutive life terms without the possibility of parole.
*Ronald Ray Butler (53/now 55) (father of Echo) – Plea hearing on 7/6/23.

He also may not contact the witnesses or co-defendants in the case including his wife Michele & daughter Echo. Posted nominal bail (9/28/22) & is out of jail.

Two more enter guilty pleas in the case of Nicole and Jasmine Snyder

Williamsport, Pa. — Two more people pleaded guilty in the case of Nicole and Jasmine Snyder, the children who were starved to death in 2016 and 2017. Their remains were

Ronald Butler and Michele Butler entered guilty pleas Thursday afternoon.

• Ronald Butler was charged with endangering the welfare of children and obstruction.
• Today, he pled no contest to two felony counts of endangering the welfare of children.
• Ronald Butler was credited for time served from Feb. 28 to Sept. 27 of 2022 and will not serve any more time in jail.
• Michele Butler was originally charged with murder of the third-degree, endangering the welfare of children, obstruction, abuse of a corpse, concealing the death of a child, and tampering with evidence.
• She pled guilty to involuntary manslaughter, two counts of endangering the welfare of children, and two counts of abuse of a corpse.
• She was sentenced to 15 years probation and time served as part of a plea deal.

Michele Butler's cooperation early on in the investigation helped lead to the discovery of the two bodies buried next to the home. She also helped flip Marie Snyder and got Echo Butler, her daughter, to agree with a plea deal, according to District Attorney Ryan Gardner.

"I'm sorry to the family," Michele Butler said. "I'm sorry to my family."

Ronald Butler did not offer any apology.

The Butlers, both of Williamsport, are parents of Echo Butler, who was in a relationship with Marie Snyder, the girls' mother, when the abuse began. Both women have pleaded guilty to homicide and related charges and will spend their lives in prison.
